I am so devious.... I am gonna make you guys envious..... I got my playoff tickets...... Game one Wednesday and game two friday...... But wait, there is more.... The wife and I always wanted to take a quick trip to California... and yes, San Jose is the stopping point, as I have aquired tickets to games three and four in San Jose..... Good seats too.... We leave saturday to take in the games monday and wednesday...along with a little sightseeing, wine drinking and fun....We will be coming home thursday, in time to catch the friday home game, if needed....

Look for the wife and I on the tube..... In section 121, row 22, seats 22 and 23 for game 3 there and seats 8 and 9 for game four there.... We will be the ones dressed in Predator gear, probably one in the mustard and one in the white away jersey....

Maybe Ill look up Ahnold, buy a couple of carbon credits to offset the plane ride.... /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> Don't worry, I'm taking my laptop.....

Not trying to sound like any posters from other forums, but. . .I suddenly can't stand you!! /mad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mad.gif" /> You definitely need a timeout after posting this! Seriously, I should make the rest of this post in green ink, as in "green" with envy. Cheer the troops on!

Okay, in talking about this game. Since we played them last year, we have dramatically upgraded our team, particularly at the center position (with the added bonus of a healthy Legwand). While we took the first game, the Sharks physically whipped us from that point on and, IMO, intimidated us. It was like boys against men, and they just pushed us all over the ice.

What I want to see is how much we've learned, how much we've grown, how more ready we are for the grind of the playoffs. Question I have also is, who sits and who plays? Will we play Vishnevski (whom I assumed you got just for this type of situation)?

You know the Sharks are gonna follow the same plan as last year..Be physical, throw the puck to the corner and keep it from us... I believe the key will be the center play..Arnott needs to be more physical and Foppa needs to be in playoff form controlling the puck. Leggy, I wonder what roll he will play. I really do not want him against Thorton and Cheechoo, I'd rather see Arnott, Dumont and Harts match their physical play and neutralize them or that line. Allow Foppa to go off on there other lines.

The Sharks 2nd line with Marleau, especially him, have not been scoring. He has like 3 goals in the last 20 games. We need that to continue. Vitaly.... That is a mystery... We pick up a physical player with playoff experience, but do not play him at all, really.....How do you throw him in now without playing him???

Tonight's game is what the playoffs are about. A couple of things I noticed tonight watching the game. The Preds need to stop dumping the puck into the zone and hoping that something will happen. I though we performed better by having someone take the puck and attack the middle of the zone. We have to be more physical with San Jose. Right now they are pushing us around, and we have to show some fight. We had some good hits tonight, and the refs hurt our ability to play a more physical style with the Major Misconduct on Hartnell (IMO that call should of never been made and I hope the NHL reviews it and reprimands the refs for their call). Lastly, on the power play we have to shoot the puck. The last power play in regulation looked horrendous. We wasted well over a minute just trying to get something set up or dumping the puck in the zone. Nashville was lucky the game went to the OT. San Jose should of cleared the puck but Weber was there to save the day for us. I hope this lights a fire under the Preds butt cause I can't take another 1st round exit.

Bleery-eyed thoughts from the game last night:

-Zids and Hammy need to have better games. Turnovers down low, or being out of position killed us.

-We're still small compared to the Sharks. It is an issue in this series

-Not having Sully hurts as we lose some speed advantage against a bigger team

-Scott H's hit on Cheechow was unfortunate, but not a suspendable offense. No way did he do it intentionally. No way was it worthy of a game misconduct.

-The ref's (as the Small Time Rock Stars put it) must be from San Jose. We were getting destroyed by their calls. First period alone we doubled the penalty minutes.

-Radulov brought energy to the ice- others didn't.

-I didn't think the defense played a strong game last night. That is where there size hurts us. They consistently keep four guys in the neutral zone to slow us down. We did a better job than the past few weeks, but we've got to make something happen strategically.

-For anyone who doubts what Forsburg brings to the game, does not watch what he does and does not understand hockey. His passes are works of art, he plays with grit and attitude, absolutely knows all of the tricks, and we could use a few more like him. He is a Superstar, even at his stage of his career. There was a definite buzz when his line went out there.

-Midway through the third, I thought we had no chance and was ready to go home. Rads, then

Webber/Dumont bring it home. I felt we outplayed them in the first OT, looked flat in the second OT.

-HAVE TO WIN FRIDAY or we are toast!

We gave up two goals because we never covered the wing in front of TV.... Defensive breakdowns....We also made the same mistakes in the first minutes of OT, but the Sharks messed the plays up.

Rads is not supposed to understand this yet, but he took his game to a different level.... having Foppa out there with him probably doesn't hurt, but his moves with the puck, uncanny.... Every time he touched the puck, you could feel the electricty in the building.... He is gonna be out first legit 40+ guy....
