Don't Crown Mitchell Yet

It would be foolish not to say that the Mitchell Lady Tigers are a favorite to repeat as A-AA State Champions, but don't crown them yet. If this week's West Tennessee Pentathlon is an indication of things to come (Dyersburg took first and second), the Lady Tigers may be in trouble. Though they may not have the depth Mitchell has, there are some teams in West Tennessee that have some very strong contenders in events Mitchell has dominated.

We are deeper this year than ever. That is not to say that we will win the title. We won last year without 1 first place finish. We should get 14-15 events out to the state. As you know state titles are all about numbers.

Mark it down Austin -East girls win the 2007 State Championship. With close to 100 points. Had they been smart and did a pentathlon they would have won easily.

Austin East girls will win A-AA with 90 to 100 points. Mitchell and Pearl Cohn will be fighting for second between 60 and 70 points.
