Lenses

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

It has been six months since I have visited the site. I was very excited to see the photography site. I want to make sure I do this the correct way but I would love to offer any advice concerning photography, cameras, lenses, etc. (especially volleyball) I have my own PT business focused on volleyball photography. I have logged over 18,000 shots in the last year, wasted alot of money buying the wrong equipment, and would have loved to have an experience person guide me initially. I will be perusing the site on a regular basis now that I know it is here and hopefully I can help someone avoid the mistakes I made.

Have a super day!

Glad to have you with us in this forum. I always need advice.

I feel like I am in pretty good shape on indoor and daytime equipment but still am looking for a night-time (football under the lights) solution. Not sure what I have will do much good.

  • 1 month later...

The 70-200 f4 is a good lens, but you should've invested a little more and got the 70-200 2.8 if you are looking for something to use for fridaynight football. Thats what stays on my camera most of the time, it's one of the most used lens for lowlight action photography. Now I would love to have the 300 2.8 or 400 2.8, but they are out of my price range for now, maybe one day! Here is another lens that I have heard good things about, and would like to try sometime, Sigma 120-300mm 2.8. Does anyone have one of these, or know someone that has one?

    • This is a great question. The retirement seemed a little premature. I do not know the coach personally, but I hope he has found what he is looking for. He is a fine Christian man with a lot of principle and morals about him. I wish him nothing but the best. There are some players in the box for the next coach. This is going to be interesting to see how it plays out.
    • Agree? Your the one defending a dude with your life for getting a DUI. That's the worst thing on here.
    • Can’t believe no one posted on this and gave this team the recognition they deserve!  AAU team Tennessee went to Iowa and done what no other team had ever done and took down Iowa and the strength by holds in AAU nationals!!! Yes McCallie had a solid group of 8th graders and they showed up but we had an AAU team that wrestled their butt off and we didn’t just place in the top 5 … we won the whole dang thing! Yes the NHSCa’s were happening and that may have hurt but never once had TN ever won the national folkstyle duals national championship!!  It was a team effort and some amazing young kids!!!    We are not a fly over state any more… on a side note : we have any even better team for cadet National's team duals in Utah and have a chance to sweep both duals which would be unprecedented!!! However the funds aren’t there and USA isn’t in th position to help these kids get to utah as was AAU that got us to Iowa! Stay tuned for some oppertunities to help make a statement for Tn!!!
