Farragut was the only school that I know of that had a Freshman, JV and Var soccer squads back then.

Good luck to the Ads and Coach.

Actually Rigger, the elder Backstrom (Ian) DID letter as both a Freshman and Sophomore and he WAS a heck of a player...he'll also be starting Med school in the Fall.

Congrats and sorry about that. I thought only four of them lettered as Freshmen and thought he should have.

Wow, Med school and all those headers. /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

QUOTE(ihavenofriendzz @ May 25 2007 - 02:04 PM) 826467026They Doyles were very good as well and Kyle Mottern, the keeper in 2003, was decent. His brother plays now, but isn't a goalie. Rob Morrow was very good and had one powerful shot.

I hope there will be alot of fans there. This should be a good game.

A Doyle, J Britcher, B Hill, Spencer Bobrowski, Mikey B are just a few who were fun to watch from those teams.

I personally enjoyed watching Crouse and Hill shut down opposing offenses.

QUOTE(cobra_strike @ May 25 2007 - 06:50 PM) 826467147Does anyone know at what time and where the Bearden v Farragut State Finals soccer match is being played?

It is at 5pm Central time on Saturday. at the Richard Siegel Soccer Complex in Murfreesboro. I think it is at the "Stadium" at the soccer complex.

I heard about Bearden's performance at the McMinn tournament. They won 6-0, 5-0, and 3-0. While I also heard that they did not look like the Bearden of old, particularly against Cleveland, I also know that their performane that weekend was not indicative of their normal play. Its important to remember that it was a tournament - I believe they were doing just enough to win come Sunday and stay away from injuries. Besides all that, look at the scores from the tournament...what more do we want from these kids? /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

I understand that, and I did see the Cleveland game, and it did not look like the Bearden of my playing days....You are going by what you heard, I'm going by what I actually saw..I saw part of the Coillerville game as well Wed. night. Wasn't that much different. But thats not saying they are not a good team because they are obviously. Only 2 losses on the season and playing for back to back state championships says enough.

    • Shopping? His family is loaded and he's 6'6 I'm pretty sure he could start anywhere in upper East TN,So no need to shop. • Quick update on Jacob -  Jacob celebrated his 16th birthday at Vanderbilt on Tuesday and has been in decent spirits.  His sense of humor has begun to show as he was visited by many friends.  He is swallowing a lot better now and has eaten some of his favorites (Chik-Fil-A and Five Guys).   He is getting prepared to head to Atlanta to the Shepherd Center first thing tomorrow morning.  His family has been waiting on insurance approval. In case you dont know the Shepherd Center it a world class facility and supposedly one of the best in the country for spinal injury rehab.  Praying for perfect results there. Considering the circumstances, Jacob is in decent spirits.  He has some reflexive movement in his legs which I think is probably a very positive sign.  Don't read too much into that just yet as there is no telling what the real prognosis is... just hopeful that is good thing.  I am really just happy that it seems like he has a punchers chance of getting something back.  He is a strong young man and very determined so I think he will fight as hard as he can in physical therapy while down in Atlanta. More than one of you has asked me about an address to send donations.  I know GoFundMe isn't for everyone.  If you want to go that route, you can make a check to "Blackman Wrestling Club" and we will pass anything received directly to the Kinderdines.   Jacob Kinderdine c/o Blackman Wrestling 4836 Trevino Court Murfreesboro, TN  37128 Also, want to thank everyone who has donated so far.  Jacobs dad will take a month off work and stay in Atlanta with him.  They need to learn how to take care of him and do home therapy work..... and surely Jacob will be glad his dad can be there.  All that could not happen without you all.  Depending on what happens, they will probably end up doing some home remodeling in order to accommodate Jacob at their home.  Thanks again. Here's a pic I lifted from Facebook of Jacob on Oxy talking to his Uncle.  LOL
