Well i was watching some of the U-17 MFC game this morning play the TNFC Black team(aka "C team") and TNFC jumped up early on them even with a missed pk..whast the deal with this game?

i mean everybody is talking about how bad they will beat TNFC Premier and Crush in state..

Also how does the U-17 MFC team match up with the 18's..because TNFC 90 dominated them this morning 6-0 i believe...should be interesting to watch at state cup

also i believe TNFC is on to regionals so even if they somehow did lose they would still advance..congrats to them

and another thing the Crush only has to make it to the finals with TNFC and they automatically advance so Memphis needs to step up there game in State if they want a chance to advance

No one has said MFC is going to beat TNFC. All that is being said is that the last two games between these two teams have been one goal games, so it is premature to automatically assume Crush and TNFC are in the finals.

Probably will be, but that is why the games are played.

The MFC 89s used to be a great team, winning three straight state championships. But, many players left.

The last time MFC 90 played MFC 89, the 90 team beat them 5-1, I think.

Blaze beat MFC Friday night in Smyrna to win state league and claim the 3 seed and play Crush in round play.

MFC will be the 4 seed and play TNFC in round play. We will all know by next Saturday night if MFC can compete.

QUOTE(hhsmustangs08 @ May 30 2007 - 11:31 PM) 826469454everyone is saying TNFC and Crush but i'd seriously watch out for MFC in the U17 bracket. this is a deep squad with lots of talent from Houston and CBHS mainly. i believe MFC wil defeat TNFC or Crush in the final 2-0. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Forgot about that one.

MFC has no reason or cause to be over-confident.

They better hush and play.

The six team format will impact the tournament this year. Last, year, if I am not mistaken, one team advanced to the semi's after beating Murfreesboro Strikers, whoever they were. They played one game against a weak team, and were in.

There aren't any Murfreesboro type teams this year to affect the tournament.

Good luck to everybody. Travel safely. Should be some fun drama.

QUOTE(PinballWizard @ Jun 9 2007 - 12:55 PM) 826473273TNFC is down 2-0 to Memphis Football Club at half time. U-17 TNFC is playing awful and MFC is taking advantage. Congrats MFC your backing up your smack talk. /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

Just one game. Long way to go.

TNFC will beat Lions tonight, and Lions will be motivated Sunday vs. MFC.

Congrats to KFC and MFC for making the U17 boys finals. Hats off to KFC for winning in PK's (still a terrible way to decide a game!). Hard fought by the two best teams in Tenn, at least on this weekend (for TNFC fans). Thumbs down to KFC player for the cheap shot that sent the MFC goalie to the hospital. Very unsporting and not on the ball. Thumbs up to the MFC backup keeper, who is a field player who never plays keeper, for a gutsy second half, OT, and PK's.

Good luck to KFC and TNFC in OK City.

This is interesting:

MFC Qualifies All Boys Teams For D1 State Cup

Plus Two of Three D1 Girls Teams Will Also Vie for Title

In the first year of Tennessee State Soccer's State League Format, Memphis FC has placed all of its D1 Boys Teams into the State Cup. The '93, '92, '91', '90 and '89's will compete in Memphis June 9-11 for the State D1 Championships. MFC is the only club in Tennessee to qualify a boys' team in each eligible age bracket through the league competition. Also, the club had three girls teams competing in the State League this Spring. The '93 and '89 Girls both qualified to compete in the State Cup in Memphis. The Tennessee State Cup is part of the US Youth Soccer National Championship Series and will be held at Mike Rose Soccer Complex.

There was a time (late 90s) when MFC would only be happy to win two or three state cups. Qualifying would have been a given for their teams at that time.

That is true. The program hasn't changed, though.

The Memphis talent is now spread out between so many clubs it is tougher to compete. Not enough talent to stock MFC, Fury, Lobos, Dragons, Rush, Kickers, Falcons, GT United--and that is just on the boy's side.

    • Yea I agree I will say tho I was a big “ v “ fan if an  opening ever did happen I think it would’ve been good to see him have a shot coming from a power house like Oakland. I’m sure he’s learned a lot from Kevin.  I bet he would bring a really good offense scheme IMO But after all this I just dunno anymore.  Whatever happens with the rumors an such if it did come to and opening I think this messes it all up.  The board members dreams are slowly slipping away now. I haven’t lived there for awhile I just hear what I hear, but my question is would there be any good potential candidates?? That’s why I don’t understand why people want b s out so bad who else could do any better ?? IMO there’s nothing attractive about it? As I stated earlier I went to the last game last year and taking a leak in a porta Potty is pretty sad and still nothing being done they say ..

    • speaking of board members how can a man get arrested 12 days ago and still be head coaching a team in TC school system? looks like your right about the tc board members. I bet it would be different if they had a kid on the team
