Charleston was amazing! We're already planning a another trip down later this year. It's only about 5 hours from Knoxville, so it's a easy get-away.

We only had one big day to do stuff, and we went to Fort Sumter in the morning and then the Boone's Hall plantation in the afternoon. Both were incredible.

Now I'm just trying to figure out how to buy one of those million dollar condos on the Harbor down there.....

My cousin used to own one of the houses on the front row on the battery, They sold it and lived on a boat for awhile and now live across the harbor on James Island. Aunt and uncle live there, too. I love going there but it is a ten hour drive for us.

We didn't make it down to the battery. We were going to last night, but the area was under severe thunderstorm warnings so we decided it wasn't a good idea.

It was originally supposed to be a 5 day trip, but we deicded we better shorten it when we got serious with the house hunting.

QUOTE(2priceless @ Jun 4 2007 - 09:10 PM) 826471423[/snapback]Very cool pic......maybe we should have that as the pic on the Home Page? Wouldn't it be cool for everyone to wear a CoachT shirt and take a pic like that on your own vacation and post them?

I'm packin' my Coach T shirt for Brazil! Will post when we get back. (gotta be careful on those beaches, though!)

Good luck in Brazil. I hear they are pretty good at kickin' that ball around down there.

However, to give you hope. In 04 I was on a college mission trip to Romania, and we had put together a basketball team to play high schools on the trip. The next to last day there somehow we arranged a game against the the local university team that had recently won one of the upper level divisions in the country. (Somehow lost in translation was the idea they were playing the UT basketball team - seriously.) Well........needless to say we weren't, and by an act that was a miracle of God we tied that team. I have never witnessed anything like it in my life, nor will I again. Phil 4:13 baby. Cause if our group of misfits could pull that off, surely you guys can do better.

Sol, I've seen your basketball skills. You need to add a few more scriptures for reference if you was able to tie that team.

    • Agree with most of this and add that it takes a "type A" personality to be successful as the top guy. Lots of folks are knowledgeable of the game, have the skills to co-ordinate scheduling, officials, duties, rosters, etc... What they lack is natural charisma and the innate ability to convince young men that they care for them, and what they're teaching them will make them successful if they contribute their effort. Football can be learned...leaders are born.
    • Understandable. I honestly couldn’t remember. When you lose your starting QB especially in high school it’s a big blow
    • Gotta keep it real here.  Nobody is twisting their arm making them coach football.  There are more high school football coaches around here than ever.  Schools that have the same enrollment today as they had 50 years ago have 5-6 coaches instead of two.  Every head coaching vacancy will get a flood of applications.  Well over 20 at West Carroll from what I read earlier in this thread.  There's more men getting into coaching each year than are getting out.  The fact is that there are far too many high school football coaches out there.  Like I said, just keeping it real.
    • Off the top of my head WV finished 3rd and RC finished 4th. I think both lost close games in the first round. Overall they were pretty evenly matched last year.
    • I’m gonna be tapped in for that Marion Co. game 🪶 🔥
