Could tonight be the night .... Will BA fall to a Williamson Co team? Why is it that Franklin had to play McCallie next week instead of BA.

One day .... One day FHS will get their shot at the Granny White Wonders!!!!

LOL.... Granny White Wonders!?? Not sure I've heard of that one. Has Franklin not played BA before? I find that hard to believe....

whats the record BA has? i forgot exactly what it was. Are they undefeated in the county?

BA has never lost to a county team. Go to hsfdatabase.com.

I ended up making the trip and sacrificing a week's worth of meal money in the process, only for it to rain for the first time since what seems like 1996.

?

BA up 21-7 at half. BA started out dominating the game, but they are completely one-dimensional. The QB situation is very shaky...Indy stacking the box and protecting against the run was fairly effective, though Jordan did have 146 yards in the first half alone.

The drive before half for BA was huge. Indy offense is sputtering and it's obvious to me that Pettigrew isn't anywhere close to 100% and I have no idea why his long-term health is being risked in a non-region game. Even if he is 100%, he's rusty. It's hard though because 60% Pettigrew is better than putting Consiglio back there considering that he'd be going both ways in 102 degree heat. The kid's a great player and he'd do fine, but you need him on defense in the 4th quarter. Meeker will be good eventually but right now he's too young so it's extremely difficult to decide as a coach.

Of course, since the kids aren't playing 4 quarters tomorrow (or tonight, whichever you prefer), that fatigue stuff gets thrown out the window in a way.

Also, the players will certainly be sore from the half they played...will this play a factor at all?

Indy passing offense was extremely anemic. Baugh needs more touches! How many times do I have to say that? Cordell's vision seemed to be lacking tonight...he did a decent job escaping pressure and several of his incompletions were just throwing the ball away, but he focused only on throws to his left.

I think BA gets the opening kick after everything resumes tomorrow night. We'll see what halftime adjustments the coaches have in store. They've certainly had enough time to think about it.

From BA's own football guide...Fairview 24, BA 3 in 1970. Anyways, hasn't happened for a long time.

I was thinking the same thing about the "fairly effective" run defense. Jordan averaged over 8 yards per carry!

With all due respect, the Indy line was getting destroyed by the BA line. There was not a lot Pettigrew could do. Cordell's vision was lacking due to lack of time. Also, one dimension seemed plenty. The only thing that stopped a BA rout, were lots of penalties, turnovers and a perfectly thrown TD pass and catch by Indy.

itzme, the media guide I was sent a couple of years ago showed BA as being 1-0-2 in 1970, with five other games with an asterisk being against non-varsity competition. It also showed BA as 2-0-0 all-time versus Fairview in the All-Time Versus Opponents section.

If those five games (in which BA went 2-3-0) do count, if someone will let me know, I'll change it on the site. While I'm not 100% sure, it seems like Flatt's record, when announced/written in the media, excluded those five games.

There's no doubt Jordan ran all over them, especially on the first two series. However, on the second and third series, Indy buckled down and stopped BA and actually forced punts, including one snap that went over the punters' head...great play by that kid by the way. I thought that the defensive sets on those drives were fairly effective.

BA played extremely sloppy football last night. Let's hope--for their sake--that they tone down the penalties as the season progresses.

    • Quick update on Jacob -  Jacob celebrated his 16th birthday at Vanderbilt on Tuesday and has been in decent spirits.  His sense of humor has begun to show as he was visited by many friends.  He is swallowing a lot better now and has eaten some of his favorites (Chik-Fil-A and Five Guys).   He is getting prepared to head to Atlanta to the Shepherd Center first thing tomorrow morning.  His family has been waiting on insurance approval. In case you dont know the Shepherd Center it a world class facility and supposedly one of the best in the country for spinal injury rehab.  Praying for perfect results there. Considering the circumstances, Jacob is in decent spirits.  He has some reflexive movement in his legs which I think is probably a very positive sign.  Don't read too much into that just yet as there is no telling what the real prognosis is... just hopeful that is good thing.  I am really just happy that it seems like he has a punchers chance of getting something back.  He is a strong young man and very determined so I think he will fight as hard as he can in physical therapy while down in Atlanta. More than one of you has asked me about an address to send donations.  I know GoFundMe isn't for everyone.  If you want to go that route, you can make a check to "Blackman Wrestling Club" and we will pass anything received directly to the Kinderdines.   Jacob Kinderdine c/o Blackman Wrestling 4836 Trevino Court Murfreesboro, TN  37128 Also, want to thank everyone who has donated so far.  Jacobs dad will take a month off work and stay in Atlanta with him.  They need to learn how to take care of him and do home therapy work..... and surely Jacob will be glad his dad can be there.  All that could not happen without you all.  Depending on what happens, they will probably end up doing some home remodeling in order to accommodate Jacob at their home.  Thanks again. Here's a pic I lifted from Facebook of Jacob on Oxy talking to his Uncle.  LOL
