A/AA Tournament Contest

Is there any interest in having another contest like we did last year for picking the teams who make it through district to regional to sectional to state for A/AA. Think NCAA basketball bracket, but for A/AA girl's soccer. No money, just bragging rights. Does anybody remember how we did it? It seems we had a deadline for submitting our picks, and we also had a mid-tournament re-set.

When do we need to start? Prior to the beginning of Districts? I can't remember at what point we started last year.

Lets start with region semis with restart @ state (explain later). I'll get points this wknd when have laptop (still on PSP)

I'll do a brief synopsis (trying to remember last years) Let me know what you think:

 

We start with the Region Semi Finals (since besides MJUHB, most don't know enough about teams state wide) The following would be in affect for scoring:

 

Region semis: 1 (one) point for each correct prediction in the first round

Region Finals: 2 (two) points for each correct prediction in the second round

Sectionals: 4 (four) points for each correct prediction in the third round

 

BREAK:

Points stay the same, but you are allowed to fill out a new state bracket to make it interesting with the remaining teams that are still in it. Points will carry over

 

State Quarters: 8 (eight) points for each correct prediction in the fourth round

State Semi: 16 (sixteen) points for each correct prediction in the fifth round

State Finals: 32 (thirty-two) points for each correct prediction in the sixth round

 

Tie breaker is the predicted number of total goals scored by all teams in the state tournament.

 

Cut off dates will be 12:00 (noon) on the day of the first region semi finals. State RE-entry cut off date will be 12:00 (midnight) on the night BEFORE the quarter finals. No entry, no play! No editing whatsoever, or it will be nullified.

 

Please let me know if you find anything in this that doesn't work.

Any idea where we can find an accurate bracket? I can't seem to find one other than what's on TSSAA's web site and I certainly don't know the seedings well enough to fill one out to start. Last year, didn't the Chattanooga paper post the bracket on its web site?

The Chattanoogan (www.chattanoogan.com) usually has a good bracket. I'll keep an eye out for it, and let everybody know when it's out. If somebody else get's one out earlier, we can us that instead.
