BaseballFan
if West wins, how do they pick who hosts the district games between Halls, OR, and West?
JohnDoe
if West wins, how do they pick who hosts the district games between Halls, OR, and West? due to tie breakers, this is how it will span out. 1 seed --> West 2 seed --> Oak Ridge 3 seed --> Halls 4 seed --> Karns
BaseballFan
Halls scored 4 runs in the bottom of the 7th to beat West 10-9.

oneup
What a great game friday night at Halls. West came out of the gate with a fury 5 doubles in the first few innings. Looked like Halls was done. Halls never gave up, head coach and assistant restricted to bench in 7th, this motivated the sometimes dorment Halls team. Maybe this team needs to see that fire out of their coach's ???? Umpire had a short fuse and jumped the gun....... Sometimes when your not sure of a call you tend to over-react.... Here's the call: Called balk on the pitcher, ball is hit anyway, umpire calls dead ball.. Is the ball live???. That was the argument and cause of the restrictions. What is the correct call???? Rebelsports
high school rule : It's a dead ball. West had 14 hits 7 doubles 3 homeruns Halls had 10 hits I think and 2 homeruns. but Halls was pretty guttsy in the end Ump behind the plate was pretty bad. The second balk that was called in the seventh was a bad call. That put the winning run on second. West's pitcher has the same motion everytime. You just can't make that call in the bottom of the seventh. Great High School game though.
Ball
The ball was dead if they called it a balk. Kinda tough for a umpire to take the game in his own hands.
oneup
After inquiring about this rule actually found out that Tennessee high school baseball is governerned in association with The Natinoal Federation of State High School Association... (NFHS) Their rule is that once a dead ball is called the play is dead..... Amazing what you learn when you ask.....The MLB rule 8.05 states: The pitcher delivers the pitch from Set Position without coming to a stop. PENALTY: The ball is dead, and each runner shall advance one base without liability to be put out, unless the batter reaches first on a hit, an error, a base on balls, a hit batter, or otherwise, and all other runners advance at least one base, in which case the play proceeds without reference to the balk. So there you have it........ What are the predictions for the tourney and who will be on the bump first ????
