Marshal wins 45-43... great season for the Chargerettes.... Wish Marshal all the luck for tommorrow... Can't win ballgames missing layups like we did tonight against a team like Marshal.. GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL>>>....

Congrats to the Tigerettes!!! You hung in there and never gave up. Go for it tomorrow and bring home the gold!!! Hats off to McMinn Central!! You guys played a great game. There is not doubt that you will be back in the Boro again and be bringing home the gold yourselves!!!! You are a classy group of young ladies. Good luck to you next year!!!

It was a great game, but failed to get a rhythm. The refs were terrible both ways. Marshall Co. didn't shoot as well, but we're still playing for a state title tommorrow.

Marshall County attempted 26 free throws to 3 for McMinn Central.

Fouls-Marshall County-9 McMinn Central-20 (admittedly 3 of those were to stop the clock in the last minute).

With that said, McMinn Central still had numerous missed opportunities as we shot under 40% for the game and missed a lot of open looks. Marshall County made the plays at the end, and McMinn Central didn't.

Congrats to Marshall County. Good luck tonight against Milan. BTW, where is March going to college?

Don't know. She is only a junior. Haven't heard much talk about it, yet. Your team is great and they will be back. Congrats on a great season.

Dang! I was hoping she was a senior!! She was a one-woman wrecking crew for the most part. However, that three by #12 was the dagger.

Good luck tonight against Milan. If I'm not mistaken, most of our losses at the 'boro have been to the eventual state champion. For y'all's sake, maybe history will repeat itself.

Thanks!! I hope you are right. #12 is a senior and always comes through when the team needs her!!

Ya'll were very good. People are making a big deal about the foul differential in both Marshall Co. games. Both teams we have played have pressed. This will cause a lot of fouls. Marshall Co. has been content to sit back in a half court man and not risk letting other teams get a lot of easy looks. However, when Marshall Co. wants to, they can be a good pressing team.

    • Personally I was pulling for Lee Hammonds to get another shot. He’s earned it!
    • Tyler Williams was the logical choice to be named head football. He served as the Highlanders’ strength coach and offensive coordinator.
    • I went to practice yesterday and liked what I saw for the most part. Derek and crew have done a good job during the off-season. I was very impressed with the size of some of those boys on the offensive line. My only regret was one of the boys I was really pulling for to have a good year was dismissed from the team. I have to applaud the coaches for setting examples for the others, no one is bigger than the team. One other thing, I was hoping with that big rain we got this week some of that  yellow paint would dissolve but it didn't.
    • Couple of thoughts: 1.  I just don't understand all the intricacies in TSSAA transfer rules anymore.    William Blount had a kid that played the final part of the basketball season with them this year,  that played at Hardin Valley last year, and played football for Bearden this year.  I say that to say, I know the coaches and the AD and the Principal at WB and I will never believe they would do something they knew was wrong.  They are men of character.  I BELIEVE the same thing about the coaches and administration at Maryville.  Call me gullible, but these are men and women of integrity in my experiences with them. 2.  Much like the transfer of the Clemmer kid a couple of years ago, with Smith, the football team is getting a huge boost, but the impact on the basketball team will be just as great or maybe even greater.  With Smith playing post, it frees the Sigmund kid who will be coming back from injury, to play more with his face to the basket.  The Rebels basketball squad in my mind, will be "the program" in East Tennessee next year.
    • Could not agree more. After this year, McKenzie's new coach will have their work cut out for them. Staying in 1A would definitely be a huge plus. Most years there is not much difference in the top 5- 1A and 2A teams across the state, but after the top 5 or so there is normally a huge drop off for 1A. Regular season region play is a lot easier for 1A in West TN  right now.
