I predict that Brentwood will come in overly confident, failing to account for Nicholas Dykes's ability to score from midfield, Benjamin Ward Gaines's ability to score from anywhere, and Chandler Farmer's ability to stop any ball that he feels like stopping.

Speaking of overconfident....

everyone counts indy out way to early for every sport. in our third varsity season in football we got are state runners up, no one said we could make it there. we have a national champion cross country runner, we have one quite a few color gaurd state championships, our wrestling teams third varsity season we place fourth in the state and come out of one of the hardest regions in the state to do place fourth. im no sayin we will win or we are the best at everything, im just sayin dont underestimate us. we have alot of good talent this year, and so does brentwood. but in the end, this game is going to be a real battle, no one is going to win "hands down"

/flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" /> Its not like everyone thinks you guys stink at everything, school sizes in williamson county are all pretty similar, i dont think anyone counts independence out because they are a "new" school, probably because typically they arent one of the top schools when it comes to athletics, dont get me wrong the football team did well and wrestling was good too, but its not like you guys have some phenomenal running coach that trained Kathey, you can just thank school zoning for her. I'd say Brentwood will win by at least 9...hundred lol ok not really but I dont think it will really be a game. Independence doesnt know what is about to hit them.

Independence has gotten good really quick. They have passionate fans that travel well to all of the games. I remember last year when they almost tore down the chainlink fence which is still bent to this day along the field at Brentwood after Indy went up 1-0 in the district semis. Brentwood scored with only minutes to go to force OT and eventually won 3-1. Back to this year, I can't pick against an undefeated Brentwood. If anything, I think Centennial is probably the 2nd best team in 11AAA.

    • The only thing that was said at half time of the 45-0 game was Coach Story, he said: "I know y'all have been out there a lot, but kick-off team, y'all need to get down there faster!" Then he and the other coaches proceeded to go into the coaches office and we all went nuts!  It was the only time I can ever remember coaches not saying anything at half time. Definitely a great memory!!!
    • Boyd could actually be a grade below what he is now, but his parents didn't see the need to "redshirt" him like the other city school down the road would have pushed for....

    • Who invited the First Family of Hartsville?
    • When Danny was a senior he was the quarterback on the 82 team and also the placeholder on extra points. At the end of the game Heritage scored a touchdown with very little time left and went ahead 9-0. On the following extra point Danny rose up and threw a perfect pass to one of his receivers which made it 11-0 and Heritage's first win against Maryville since the series started in 77. Maryville fans were highly ticked off because they felt like it was rubbing salt in the wound. The following year when both teams met again at Maryville  the Rebels ran away with the game and after the first couple of touchdowns they went for two points after each score for a pay back and the score was 45-0 at halftime. The following Monday Bob Gilbert the sports eiditor for the local paper bashed Maryville in an article called the Humilation of Teenagers and tore into Maryville even though he was a graduate of the school. Those were the good ole days when Heritage had decent teams and the rivalry between them and Maryville was a fun event to see.
