The stone cold facts are that even if NE had a stable coaching situation, you were still looking at being the last place team in the region. Since moving up to 5A- and having the unfortunate curse of being in Region 6- the Eagles have been outmanned and outschemed. The reality is that they will have to improve tremendously to have a chance against even the lower echelon teams of the region. They are not competitive with Brentwood, Ravenwood, Dickson, Franklin, and Independence. That's five losses guaranteed. Centennial is not far away from the big five, so add a sixth loss. You are almost guaranteed a losing season coming in.

Prospective coaches look at this situation and know it's not a fair fight for the Eagles. Add to the malaise with administration, and it is a lose-lose propostition. Maybe the NE Administration recognizes this and have decided to further de-emphasize football. At least basketball gives the school some credibility.

I hope whomever takes this position has a ton of patience. It is THE toughest assignment in the region.

Northeast needs a coach who can get some excitement installed into the football program. Those young men need something positive to happen to them in a hurry. I wish the Eagles the best of luck.

The job is no longer posted on tssaa.org so can someone please tell how to contact the school system for those that are interested in applying.

Pretty sure if someone wanted the job they could stop by the school with resume. For a positive coach, Southerland is as positive as you get. A bit annoying at times, but the man is energetic and student oriented. They got rid of him, so how more positive can anyone get.

Northeast needs an entire staff of educators to make the progression happen. With the knowledge that they may only win 3-4 games next season. This is on the hopes that they are moving back to 4A and do not lose all their athletes as they did when Rossview opened years ago. Their is talent at the school, but coaching plays a major role in the process of winning in their region. I see Northeast going maybe 2-8 next year if lucky maybe 3-7. Not on coaching, but the region is so difficult and loaded.

It is May 21, 2008 and no head coach with the job posted on November 28, 2007. They passed up several great coaches such as Arrington and some inhouse. So what makes a coach qualified to coach a team that has won a total of 3 games in 3 years? What great coach wants to be in a program that needs this work? Maybe we will find out soon enough, and then I am not betting on a winner! All the good coaches are already assigned positions at new jobs, why do you all think that Northeast is a job that would bring big name coaches. I do not see them getting a top notch coach, and that is due to the fact they waisted all this time thinking they had what they wanted. In fact they let the men that cared go, and that is a shame.

To the boys, get out and go to another school if you can. This school is not going to change your world, but another school may give you the opportunity. Run fast and don't look back!

He must have read all these posting on CoachT and was scared away. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

Seriously, I feel for the players that are left there and having to deal with this whole mess. What a better situation than to do what football players do the best when the odds are against you, fight together to be better. Do what no one expects you to be able to accomplish. Win games because you all want to. Whatever, coach comes along to help guide and teach you...respond positively and enjoy your lives in HS. Make the best out of a bad situation.

Someone said to run to another school, the city is the worst in America to live in (who cares), you are in the situation you are in, make the best of it that you can. Not everyone can afford to run away from their problems. In life that does not solve a thing. What does that teach these students? Face them head on and overcome them.

All the best to the Clarksvill NE football players. I feel for you, except when my Indy boys play ya. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Well before you all get on here and attack us some more, get put in our shoes for just a day. I bet you could'nt last one day with what we have to go through. Footballfan15 you seem like just the kind of fake person that last years coaching staff was made up of. Now the only reason were even on here is because this is our only source for a coach. The admin at northeast is so bad that they cannot have communication with the players and parents. So if any coach wondering about this job is reading this right now. I speak on the behalf of my enitre team. All we want to do is play and win. For the special coach who picks this job up, will have the best group of players available. We might not be the best athletes, but were disiplined athletes who are just ready for a change.

Nice Job/Comments T2C.

Your admin must be total joke.

Hang in there. All the players who have played, know what to do this time of year. Lift, run, get big, get strong.

You don't need a coach to do that.

Good Luck /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

    • Why would the tax payers be responsible for paying for only a coach? In recent years with all the theft from various programs in schools from different programs with booster clubs (not just sports) the State of TN has made alot of rules surrounding booster clubs and how they handle money.  I have two documents to review, 1 is 40 pages from the state comptroller and the other is 37 pages from my district, so I can consider starting a booster club for my middle school program. It has been too much trouble in the past for the other coaches.  There is no way there needs to be an adult in the school building for 7 hours a day with no responsibilities except coaching.
    • The only thing that was said at half time of the 45-0 game was Coach Story, he said: "I know y'all have been out there a lot, but kick-off team, y'all need to get down there faster!" Then he and the other coaches proceeded to go into the coaches office and we all went nuts!  It was the only time I can ever remember coaches not saying anything at half time. Definitely a great memory!!!
    • Boyd could actually be a grade below what he is now, but his parents didn't see the need to "redshirt" him like the other city school down the road would have pushed for....
