Boys Golf A/AA: David Lipscomb -Private

Girls Tennis A/AA: Chatt. Christian -Private

Boys Tennis A/AA- Knox. Catholic -Private

Publics: 9 Privates: 6

We can assume the Boys Soccer will go to a private since that's all that's left. I would also assume that Track is probably gonna go to a public school in both, which would make it 11-7.

So is the goal for no private schools to win anything before people stop complaining. Even in the major sports like Football and Basketball it was 6-1 in favor of publics.

P.S. Forrest beat Friendship yesterday so better lower your private winning percentage!

Privates will win baseball and softball at a couple different levels which will make it about even. and since they are about 300 more public schools than privates (privates that would win even more were they not multiplied) what are the odds that it should be even? about 1 in 500 , but when there are significant and obvious advantages it evens back out.

1-Yes, that's why the title is Same Old Story

2-You make it sound as if no players outside urban areas play club. Whatever the reasons, the results speak for themselves and have turned the baseball and softball tournaments, in A and AA, into a joke.

Indian, Old Pirate says it does OOOOOOOO good to talk this private with the private supporters. They'll continue to argue. OP feels eventually they'll be put in their own divisions. May not soon, but eventually. Wait 5 years and see what happens with the private dominance in all sports.

Old Pirate says the privates like to compare public wins vs private wins.

The key here is the ratio of public schools winning and the ratio of private schools winning percentage. Not simply wins vs wins, a bushle of fruit has 6 good fruit vs a dozen with 5 good fruit, which is the best choice?

So what you are saying is that the championships should be spread evenly every year with every team have their designated % chance to win it all. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

So if that is so, then why are their 8 championships in football attributed to only two teams? That hardly seems right if we follow that logic. Why aren't you pouncing all over Alcoa and Maryville? /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

Maryville doesn't compete against privates that I know of , and Alcoa is the only public in A, AA , or AAA that can beat Goodpasture.

Look at the participants in the later rounds of the playoffs in all sports , even though privates are greatly outnumbered they ALWAYS have more representitives in the later rounds than publics.

It doesn't matter if Maryville plays any privates or not. The prevailing argument here is that a few schools dominate over all others. For the purposes of private haters, they lumped all the private schools together when it really is a select few that are always there in different sports. That is just like Maryville and Alcoa's total domination. Although, Maryville and Alcoa dominate truly like no other school ever has in TN HS sports. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Although, I do know why private haters take that stance and over look Maryville and Alcoa. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

Exactly, it doesn't matter if they're public or private SOME programs are just dominant. Covington softball has been to state 22 years(12 in a row) and Gibbs has been there 18 times, winning 8 championships. Soddy Daisy has won 6, and they made it back to state after losing all but one of their starters from last year! The best programs just reload, like Maryville and Alcoa in football, Shelbyville and Jackson Co. in Girls Basketball, Goodpasture in Softball, Farragut in baseball, etc. When a programs starts winning, the best players want to go there because it increases their chances of winning a state championship. Should we start rationing out how many good players a school can have now? Will that work? 6 of Trinity's starters have been there since elementary school, so I guess they should have kicked some of them out for being good ball players. Good grief, life is not fair! Sometimes a team is just better than you, and you have to stink it up and go on. That's what Trinity did for many years when they were getting smacked around by every team in their district, but they just happened to have a good group of girls come through around the same time, which produced good results. But nobody has a beef with you when you're not winning.
