Is the TSSAA treating D2 fairly?

I agree with what you are saying...I was just trying to point out that if the BCB featured the same quality that existed in the old pre-split 3a clinic bowl days, then a real state-wide audience would be possible. Comcast (if they are smart) is doing this for some other reason than making money.

I'm with ya'! Not trying to be argumentative, just trying to make a point about the financial feasibility (lack thereof) of televised HS games in the Tennessee market.

Indian,

Out of state athletes? Do you actually think recruiting of out of state athletes is a real problem?

Marion County and Jackson County, AL having been recruiting each other's athletes for years. Oh, wait a minute! They're public schools. I must of have been hallucinating just like the Chattanooga Times reporter who wrote the expose several years ago.

Probably not other than word of mouth between parents/alumni, but as in any school a coach could get the parent to speak for him. Baylor and McCallie have had some good players from around the south, around Tennessee in the last few years and most all of the Chattanooga area private schools have athletes from North Georgia. I was still talking about the post on Division II schools recruiting if and when there's no regulation on it.

Which players went from North Jackson to South Pittsburg?

There is an article in the Tennessean this afternoon stating that the Trinity Christian Renfroe girls - the ones that are signed with Tennessee to play softball - are all moving to Williamson Co. and will be attending Ravenwood. Now, they have already met with the Ravenwood coach, but they do not currently live in Williamson Co and dad is also interviewing for a position at PJP2.

Hypothetically speaking, what would be the net response if say a superstar like Sonny Gray had stated that we was transferring to a private and had met with the private school coach before officially transferring? /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" All 3 of the Renfroe girls are superstars of this caliber ... they can play.

Someone needs to define for me what "undue influence" is.

It seems that, if we're going to punish schools for sending letters about practice to students who have committed to coming to a school but are not students at that school yet, then we should certainly do the same to schools whose administrators meet face to face with students who not only are not students at a school but also not even committed to going to that school.

They're not signed yet, just commitments. The question seems to be who initiated the contact-I would say the family since the coach would have no way of knowing they were leaving, and might not even know how to get in touch-but regardless I thought students had to be enrolled before such conversations could take place.

I think a clear definition of "undue influence" would be great. Do we think Ronnie could give a clear definition to us? /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

The difference is that it was not Carlton Flatt meeting with these prospective students. I am not a Carlton Flatt fan but I guarantee you that if this were Carlton or anyone else with Brentwood Academy, people would not up in arms. It is all about perception.

BTW, I don't see anything wrong with what the Ravenwood administrators or the Renfroe family did.

Wrote "Marion County", not SP. If you want to pay The Times $1.95 to retrieve at least one article, it was published October 11, 2001. I'd reproduce it for you but the server timed out I realize that's ancient history which only counts if you're a public school suporter and want to dredge up accusations regarding privates.

    • You defend your little buddy bsatt like it’s the end of the world just as much. Why don’t you go on to Upperman with him this summer… you know he is your “BEST MAN”.
    • No sir. Not staying at East. But definitely not going to Elizabethton.
    • Football and basketball coaches should not be making 100,000 not teaching any classes unless their winning state championship every year lol
    • Im sure Nick Saban didnt have the final say at Alabama! That was not one of your brightest statements. How can you be that uneducated about football and blog about football? Its fair to name people who get arrested, its part of the consequences of their dumb mistakes as adults. You talk mess about the satterfields for way less. Are you that guys lawyer? I have never seen somebody defend someone so hard for something that could have been catastrophic.
