Looking for an 8U Travel Team for my son

Recommended Posts

Hello.. any 8U travel team from the Murfreesboro/Rockvale area looking for a good little ball player that has a hot bat and good glove?

My son is a good 1st baseman and hits hard in the 50-60mph pitch speed. He spends quite a bit of time in the Batting Cage and hits just as good off my older son (11) pitching live!

He turned 8 on May 16th, so he will be a returning 8 year old for he 2009 season.

He will play in the MBA league for Fall ball..but doesn't really want to as he likes to hit kid pitch!

I completely understand the commitment of the travel ball requirements as my oldest (25) played travel ball for years with the Knoxville Braves and Stars a while back.

Anyway.. if there is a team out there looking...let me know.. Thanks

Don

You should check with Roy Wright of the Murfreesboro Muddogs. His team is currently 7U which your boy would qualify based on his birth date. Travel baseball is based on age as of April 30th. Your son would have been 7 on this date. Roy's # is posted on several message boards. 615-692-9035

This same team will be playing 8U in the Spring.

All baseball is based on April 30th birthdates until they play school ball.

Well, Thanks to CoachT and the WARHAWKS, Zachary had a chance to play in the Tourney this weekend and we have decided Travel Ball is for him.

My thanks goes to Nathan who gave Zachary a chance and had him play 5 games this weekend which allowed Zachary not only to play a travel Tourney, but gave Zachary his first taste a taking a 1st place win in a championship!

Thanks again Coacht and and a big Thank you to Nathan and the Warhawks which were a great group of kids!

    • Lee would have been a good choice, also.  I'm sure Benny was involved with the decision.
    • Personally I was pulling for Lee Hammonds to get another shot. He’s earned it!
    • Tyler Williams was the logical choice to be named head football. He served as the Highlanders’ strength coach and offensive coordinator.
    • I went to practice yesterday and liked what I saw for the most part. Derek and crew have done a good job during the off-season. I was very impressed with the size of some of those boys on the offensive line. My only regret was one of the boys I was really pulling for to have a good year was dismissed from the team. I have to applaud the coaches for setting examples for the others, no one is bigger than the team. One other thing, I was hoping with that big rain we got this week some of that  yellow paint would dissolve but it didn't.
    • Couple of thoughts: 1.  I just don't understand all the intricacies in TSSAA transfer rules anymore.    William Blount had a kid that played the final part of the basketball season with them this year,  that played at Hardin Valley last year, and played football for Bearden this year.  I say that to say, I know the coaches and the AD and the Principal at WB and I will never believe they would do something they knew was wrong.  They are men of character.  I BELIEVE the same thing about the coaches and administration at Maryville.  Call me gullible, but these are men and women of integrity in my experiences with them. 2.  Much like the transfer of the Clemmer kid a couple of years ago, with Smith, the football team is getting a huge boost, but the impact on the basketball team will be just as great or maybe even greater.  With Smith playing post, it frees the Sigmund kid who will be coming back from injury, to play more with his face to the basket.  The Rebels basketball squad in my mind, will be "the program" in East Tennessee next year.
