Best Basketball Atmospheres

Building off the bad gyms thread, I'd like to hear of some nice gyms with inviting atmospheres. Bright, clean, plenty of seating, not necessarily the largest. A history of thrilling games also helps. Here's a few in no certain order. Please add your ideas.

- Gallatin

- York Institute

- Macon County

- Livingston Academy

- Cumberland County

Dobyns-Bennett's Buck Van Huss Dome is probably one of the nicest gyms in the state. It has plenty of seating and is very bright, an all-around nice gym. Big and spacious.

Gallatin High definitely has the best GYM to play on..Their floor is like playing on a university Floor. The has a good hold and players can stop and go.Really bright lights and a cool facility to play in. What does anyone else think, TNBBALL!!

Hendersonville is a great atmosphere. Ask anyone who was at the Maplewood/Hendersonville substate game.

As for the best atmosphere no doubt Science Hill has it. The Topper Palace is the craziest place to be when basketball season arrives.

Oliver Springs... When the Bobcats are on a roll is there another gym that is louder with vocal support?

Ever been in the gym when Austin East is on the floor. talking about loud!!!!! They also put on a good show as well. Keep up the good work Coach Mitchell.

I can tell you are from Middle Tennessee because you didn't have any East Tennessee teams on your list. What about Oak Ridge?

Hmm...it's an older gym and not all that big, but I'm partial to Bartlett's gym.

 

Dyersburg is probably my favorite gym, though...it's pretty big, has a great sound system, and is very well-lit. Other good ones I remember are Hardin County (though it's a bit on the small side), Bolton/Collierville/Houston (Same gym in three different schools), White Station, and Woddale (though not in an especially ritzy area). Cookeville's gym looked nice looking through the doors, though I didn't get a chance to go inside.

You boys just wait till Briarcrest gets theres...its going to be underground. Circular seating, the score board will be from the top of the rafters in the middle, all leather chair backed seating, 10 player scoreboard, brings a tear to my eye...I like Montgomery Centrals for some odd reason, Cookeville has a nice one as well.
