I am very suprised right now, Powell Put a hurtin on Fulton tonight!

I wouldnt get too exited if you are a Powell fan ... Fulton starts 8 Sophs on defense and lost a Senior DL last Friday night to a knee injury ... Fulton very young an inexperienced ... Fulton has alot to learn as far as the young guys go ... they are thinking too much and not reacting ... Powell doesnt look very good on defense and will have to try to outscore teams ... the passing game they use is effective but they looked like they fumble alot .... Fulton is down this year .... and Powell will play more fundamentally sound teams that will run right at them .. Fulton ran the ball well right at Powell .. when Fulton has tried to work on passing game it has broken down ... either the QB (Soph) throwa high or the reciever runs wrong route ... again very young ... but as season goes on they will learn more and be able to react .... I heard some of the Powell players saying they they were going undefeated .... Id say 6-4 and Fulton about the same ..... I dont think either teams are very good ....

Undefeated is stretch, but I thought Powell showed a lot more aggression on defense tonight than they had in past scrimmages. Some of the linebackers, #42 and #15, looked pretty good. No. 8 is the biggest hitter on the team and I'm not so sure wouldn't make an outstanding linebacker. The defenive line played much better than what I have seen and I still believe that could be the team's strength on that side of the ball. Fulton isn't what they have been but I would say Coatney will have them playing pretty well come playoff time. A team that young will only get better as the season gets going. The turnovers could be problematic for Powell because you are right Tadvols, they fumbled way too much. I'll take the defensive improvement even against a young team like Fulton. I would still like the offensive line to get a little more aggressive as well. Sometimes the guys were in the right place to make blocks, but seemed like they would get beat...but I'll take a good showing against a program like Fulton any day. Good job Powell.
