Extra-curricular activities within a community are important, what about the tax dollars it may bring (not much but some) by people buying gasoline, eating out at local restaurants, and other eateries at local stores? You may also view it this way that sports is considered an entertainment venue and it gives people something to do within the community. Without it, they are just going to go else where like Knoxville or Cookeville to be entertained. Do you guyz want to be remembered like a suitcase college where everyone leaves because the entertainment part is not there.

The situation is above sports. A county without school in session is a bummer. The state of Tennessee requires a set amount of class days per year. (don't remember the #)

This problem did not pop up overnight. The school board was aware at a meeting in May that revenues were down, though not by how much. Responsible officials would have acted at that time creating plans for the upcoming year. The problem should have been resolved long before August.

Somebody in CC needs to introduce the folks in charge to the 5 Ps system the military has. This reaction method they are using now is only doing a disservice to ALL the children there. /mad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":angry:" border="0" alt="mad.gif" />

It seems they are using up snow days, in August.
