Did SC have anybody out last night 12/1 in Houston County, when HC put it on them. Where was the 11AA MVP we have heard about. You may have seen the 10A MVP-Dillard with 38 points. Didnt Waverly just beat HC. It might not look so good for SC after all. SC fans need to be realistic, they will finish near the bottom of the district. They will be lucky if they beat Mont. Central. MC played HC a close game.Foul trouble is what hurt MC.

To be realistic SC is not that great of a team right now. They were up by 3 at the end of the first and down by three at the half. HC came out in the second half ready to go, dilliard went off and there u have it. U can not knock the Smith kid though, he did not play great against houston i believe he had 16 however he is averaging 24 ppg through the first four games. And Smith had 38 last friday night so he is not having that bad of year cut him a little slack. Noone said he was the MVP, they said he was a contender.

Sycamore beat harpeth tonight by 1. i think the final was 46-45. A very sloppy game with both teams making to many mistakes. The unsung hero tonight was Hoard, who hit the go ahead basket with 3 secs left, and then after a couple of time outs, he stole the ball to seal the victory.

Both teams match up well against each other, the downfall for both is lack of bench play, but i think sycamore's bench is a little better than harpeths. I dont know if ne thing is wrong with horkins but he doesnt look to score when he should. trey cant do it by himself cuz he is goin to have off nights. trey had a decent game tonight but not one of his best. It should interesting the next time these two teams play again down the road.

I don't know statebound15. I'm not sure where this year's version of Harpeth or Sycamore is going to stack up against the rest of the district, but they are shadows of their former selves 2 and 3 years ago. That was two average AA teams playing tonight imo. Not sure about bench depth but I thought Sycamore only went about 8 deep tonight and I know Harpeth played 3 freshmen, 2 sophomores, 3 juniors and 3 seniors. Wait until next year when Dempsey, Staggs, Jones and Caruthers are gone. It was an exciting and competitive game because the team's were evenly matched, but not necessarily because they were all that good. Harpeth's young guys have got to step up and make some shots and value the ball more. Way too many turnovers that killed runs or extended their opponents runs.

Not an excuse, but I thought the refereeing crew tonight stunk, but I always think that with 2 of those guys. One of the few crews that I see where when the whistle blows you really don't have a good idea one way or the other which kid is going to get the foul. I also thought there should have been at least 4.5 seconds on the clock at the end instead of down to .8 before it was stopped. Then the refs added 2.2 seconds because noone was really paying attention to the clock. Sycamore scores at around 5.0 and Harpeth calls time out. 1/2 second is plenty reaction time if your whistle is in your mouth and your finger is on the clock. I didn't particularly mind the no call on Hoard at the end, though they had been calling that foul all night long. Think about Dansby's fourth at mid court.

I agree, that both these teams dont have the same skill level as they did the past few years. Both teams look so much different than before, especially harpeth. Im use to seeing harpeth's starting five avg. height at like 6'3, 6'4, and they all could play ball. Harpeth being so young does hurt, but down the road it will help them cuz of playing experience. What grade is #42? i think that is his number. he has a nice shot and knocked down a few 3's in the ball game. i also agree bout the refs. i think their was a lot of charges called that should have been blocking fouls or most of the time no calls. But i do think that both these teams will get better as the season goes along cuz they both have some players that are playing a lot of min. in varsity and will have to adapt to the speed and emotion of the game. Is trey and kendrick the only seniors for harpeth? I know travis, shane, and hoard are the only ones for sycamore.

42 Zack Crowe is a junior. He does have a nice 3 ball. Besides Jones and Caruthers, the Indians also lose 41 Lathan Turner. They are as young as they've ever been which is even more exaggerated when you know that 7 seniors got a lot of minutes last year. There's 3 seniors, 3 juniors, 4 sophomores and everybody else is a freshman.

About the charge calls the referee runs by after calling a charge on Harpeth and get's the 'that's a bad call' from the peanut gallery. Makes another charge call on Sycamore's end and comes back by and get's 'that was a bad call too'. That one ref has to lead the league in charge calls. Maybe we should to back to no contact and set shots. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

I also agree that this game would be much better later in the season, especially with 2 teams so young. It was still Harpeth/Sycamore.

    • Who are the keepers in your opinion?
    • Well I believe they got class of 2024* Blake Heckmann  And class of 2023* Cal Grubbs mixed up in with class of 2023 Army DL commit Caleb Graham whom played both sides of the play.
