Tie breaker

Question if Austin East, Anderson County and Kingston all finish 5-2 (and that's based on Kingston beating A-E on Halloween Night), how do the tie breakers work? Because Anderson County beat Kingston, but lost to A-E, and if Kingston wins they would have beaten A-E but lost to Anderson. If it goes head to head then how can you decide if all three teams beat each other. An Austin-East win makes all of this irrelevant.

the local scoreboard show said last night if kingston wins friday against ae it goes

1. Catholic

2. Kingston

3. Austin-East

4. Anderson County

it would go by overall record and kingston would win that an then the tie breaker for 3rd between AE and AC would go to AE cause they beat AC. Do you get what i'm saying?

AC can finish 3rd. If A-E beats Kingston, AC is third and kingston is fourth.

I wish the tie breaker would be something other than overall record.

Has kingston played anyone above 3-A this year?

It hurts teams, like AC, to play better competition.

Go to Tssaa.org, AC is 4th... I mean come on now, they're going to play Seymour in the first round.. I'm pretty sure they'll rather play seymour..

i wouldn't overlook seymour to much they should have beat ae last year and was up 10 -0 at halftime and they have one of the best defenses in 3a, and don't forget that got a lil edge in this being coach householders last year and that can go along way. From what i saw at the fulton anderson county game look for ac to try and run in all night long if they play seymour but look for seymour to make them pay for running that much should be a hard hitting game.

    • I went to practice yesterday and liked what I saw for the most part. Derek and crew have done a good job during the off-season. I was very impressed with the size of some of those boys on the offensive line. My only regret was one of the boys I was really pulling for to have a good year was dismissed from the team. I have to applaud the coaches for setting examples for the others, no one is bigger than the team. One other thing, I was hoping with that big rain we got this week some of that  yellow paint would dissolve but it didn't.
    • Couple of thoughts: 1.  I just don't understand all the intricacies in TSSAA transfer rules anymore.    William Blount had a kid that played the final part of the basketball season with them this year,  that played at Hardin Valley last year, and played football for Bearden this year.  I say that to say, I know the coaches and the AD and the Principal at WB and I will never believe they would do something they knew was wrong.  They are men of character.  I BELIEVE the same thing about the coaches and administration at Maryville.  Call me gullible, but these are men and women of integrity in my experiences with them. 2.  Much like the transfer of the Clemmer kid a couple of years ago, with Smith, the football team is getting a huge boost, but the impact on the basketball team will be just as great or maybe even greater.  With Smith playing post, it frees the Sigmund kid who will be coming back from injury, to play more with his face to the basket.  The Rebels basketball squad in my mind, will be "the program" in East Tennessee next year.
    • Could not agree more. After this year, McKenzie's new coach will have their work cut out for them. Staying in 1A would definitely be a huge plus. Most years there is not much difference in the top 5- 1A and 2A teams across the state, but after the top 5 or so there is normally a huge drop off for 1A. Regular season region play is a lot easier for 1A in West TN  right now.
    • Word is Jason Maxwell will be new AD - he is currently head baseball coach. Also heard Roc might be headed to Pope as an assistant coach.
    • you must not know how tssaa operates lol
