CHAMPDDS
Just wanted to get a little talk going regarding middle school ball, if anyone is interested... FYI- If anyone has a middle school team wanting a 'friendly' in Chattanooga, please get in touch with me...The St. Jude Girl's team is having a powerful season, and is having trouble picking up some good, competitive matches in our league.... They are currently 3-0, with a goal differential of 19 for and only 1 against... Good thing is, 12 of the girls are headed to Notre Dame next year !!! GO IRISH ! Nashville Panther
Meigs out of Nashville has won something like 4 city championships in a row and is always willing to play anyone who is a challenge. I don't think they can play in 2008 as its now winter sports season but next fall they would play Tullahoma, Chattanooga is a tad far. St Jude School finds ourselves in the Independent School Conference, here in Chattanooga, which starts their season in LATE fall, which takes us out of playing historically strong teams like GPS and Baylor unfortunately (they start play in early fall)... Was hoping to hear from any Southeastern Tennnessee teams, before it gets too late in the season... David

downforthecount
They may be finished, but if you want a challenge get ahold of Brentwood Middle. We played a competitive match with Meigs (and lost), but we couldn't stay on the field with Brentwood.
MVM
Totally off subject, but...... Does anyone beside myself find it CRAZY that Middle school soccer is still being played going into the first week of December? Can anyone explain to me why Middle school soccer is played in November and December. /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" /> and is it that way everywhere or just Hamilton Co.. This kinda goes along with the issue, that I find silly, with two 'seasons' here in Chattanooga area...Some schools start there season right when school starts (GPS, Baylor, etc.), while others start in November (St Jude, Hamilton County)...putting us playing our end of season tournament this week...(and the first snow fell today !)... My understanding is that they have this late fall season for some to avoid conflicts with other fall sports, ie. Volleyball ? I wish everyone would get on board and realize that you play VOLLEYBALL INDOORS !, and that season could be shifted later ? So we avoid the colder temps..and more importantly, the time change/earlier sunset, which forces many schools that do not have lights to often start their games at 3:30-4:00, and making it difficult for parents that work until 5pm to attend their kid's games. I am sure it is not that simple, and there is some larger issue that I am not aware of, why they opt to play late fall.. D By the way, St. Jude finished their regular season 7-0, with a 43-2 goal differential...

We played a competitive match with Meigs (and lost), but we couldn't stay on the field with Brentwood. I would assume that they have many of the select 07/08 Brentwood Apex/Atlas players on their team, and if that is the case, they probably are fantastic...My daughter's select team went up against them in the state tourney last year, and they were impressive... Unfortunately, with such a late fall season, we ran out of time to try and match up against any other teams...On to select season now, I guess... CHAMPDDS
Why didn't St.Jude get games or scrimmages with Loftis or Soddy Middle? Afterall you played Signal Mtn.. We did have one originally planned with Loftis for yesterday (Dec 1st), but there were some concerns with injuries right before the end of season tournament, which begins this week, plus St Jude has a couple of <100% players due to past injuries (our game against Grace Academy, we only had 11 available players ( 2 were 6th grade, 1 is even a 5th grader)...so both coaches felt it was best to not play...ended up that the weather was pretty nasty anyway yesterday.. The Loftis game would have been a great game, since they have quite a few select players from the same two teams that St Jude players are on....I believe Loftis's record was also 7-0 for the season, and something like 40 goals for, zero against ! (St Jude was 7-0 also and 43 for-2 against)..
