I have taken a job in Georgia. My former assistant coach, Aaron Collins, is now the Head Coach. I am sure that Coach Collins will do a good job. His assistants are all returning from last year's staff. I also think that the boys will do well in the Vallley vs SPHS, SCHS, and MCHS. They will compete. Good luck Coach Collins and Go Tigers!

So the former assistant coach has taken the head job? And you said he brought back the other coach that was on the bench? What about the big kid from Marion is he still there or did he graduate? Dunlap should have improved some but my guess is Bledsoe will be tough to beat. Any thoughts? How did graduation hit the valley schools?

Are you talking about John Watts? If so, he returns for his senior season this year and should be a force in the valley. As for graduation at Marion, they did lose the Winfree kid(who will be playing at Tennessee State) as well as Brooks Congrove and Derrick Parker, who were starters. Along with Watts, the Warriors will return Reggie Mosley who joined him in the starting lineup as well as Brent Layne who started the last half of the season. I'm not sure about the other schools except that Bledsoe was hit pretty hard by graduation I think, although I know the Brooks kid will be back.

Whitwell was hit hard by graduation losing 3 starters. We did get a transfer from Okalahoma that is 6'3 and will be one of the best post players in the valley. He will be a senior and we will also be starting another senior for his lighting quick speed and great D. We will have a 6'1 point guard,5'11 wing, and a 6'0 post/wing starting this year. We will be alot better than we were last year and will give all the teams in our district a run. We also have a good backup guard/wing that will get alot of starts this year...

WHitwell lost 3 starters and is uspposed to be improved? Im having a hard time understanding that. I saw the varsity play our(sequatchie) JV at camp and the score was in the low 20's. I don't see how you will compete with CCS. When was the last time whitwell had 10 wins or someone who could at least score 20 points? We will be ok this year just not very quick as usual. Marion will probably be tough in the valley, who knows what South pitt will have or if nayone will be eligible!

I will admit that we did play there JV and kept it in the low 20s but all of our players didnt play that game and it was the 1st game we played. I do remember when we played your Varsity team that we kept it close despite having 3 of our best players not there. We had 2 JV players starting that game and no Varsity point guard playing.

I agree with Condra. Whitwell played SC's varsity with their B team and the score was very respectful. I recall the SC coach doing some but chewing. Higdon kept Smith in check and Whitwell played defense like I have never seen. I feel that if Whitwell is going to do well that they must play defense and revamp that offense. That new coach better figure out how to score! Hey whitwell coach, how about running the flex? It works for the girls!

Grundy County be very good in the valley since they got that new kid...I think his name is Bobby Anderson. The main problem for Grundy is that 4 of the top 7 players play football,if someone gets hurt that will dim their chances of returning to the top half of the district. GO GRUNDY!!!!!!!!!!!1111

    • Yea I agree I will say tho I was a big “ v “ fan if an  opening ever did happen I think it would’ve been good to see him have a shot coming from a power house like Oakland. I’m sure he’s learned a lot from Kevin.  I bet he would bring a really good offense scheme IMO But after all this I just dunno anymore.  Whatever happens with the rumors an such if it did come to and opening I think this messes it all up.  The board members dreams are slowly slipping away now. I haven’t lived there for awhile I just hear what I hear, but my question is would there be any good potential candidates?? That’s why I don’t understand why people want b s out so bad who else could do any better ?? IMO there’s nothing attractive about it? As I stated earlier I went to the last game last year and taking a leak in a porta Potty is pretty sad and still nothing being done they say ..
    • I have a sophomore that can do 177 (preferred) or 192. Sent you an email.
    • speaking of board members how can a man get arrested 12 days ago and still be head coaching a team in TC school system? looks like your right about the tc board members. I bet it would be different if they had a kid on the team
