JP2 tops #1 Ensworth

Just wanted to give special congrats to our JP2 lady knights for the big win over #1 and defending state champs Ensworth on Tuesday. After graduating 5 seniors that had gone to 3 state tournaments and 4 of 5 starters missing games this year to injuries, it was a great team effort. Down 8 at halftime we scored the first 4 posessions and it was close the rest of the way. We also finally hit FT's down the stretch to close them out. It was the first ever win against Ensworth. Hopefully we can play well heading into the tourney as there is no team head and shoulders above the rest. Good luck to all.

So you changed your handle Knight-Time. I wasn't there. But if you must brag, you were playing one of the weakest Ryan girls team in the history of the school. PS how bout a prediction on football. What time is it, not Knight Time.

Ouch. Just say nice win, as I would say with a nice Ryan win over Harpeth Hall in that 20-18 snoozer. We had a good win but that doesn't mean we're primed to win the tourney. It was our first region win and we have to get more consistent. We have a starter out the rest of the season and dress 3 freshmen that have to give us minutes here and there and have a great junior class. Anyone can win on a given night but this was no fluke. Also, no one cares about football. Have a good weekend all!

The win over Ensworth is the biggest upset so far in Div II this season, and certainly a nice win. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

 

I don't know about that anyone can win on a given night, but its a nice thought.

      He may have possibly said that to get the best out of him. Back when I was in school word got out I was going to transfer and Coach Story popped off and ask Coach Wilson in front of the team if Maryville was going to get a jock strap in return on this trade. That got back to me and I got fired up and stayed just to show them up. Now today Coach Story is one of my best friends.

      Dylan's Dad, I'm glad you replied. I wanted to reply but wasnt willing to take the bait. There were 20 wrestlers on the team. I may be mistaken and correct me if I'm wrong but I believe 5 of the 20 attend McCallie right now and one will next year. At most, there are/were 6 kids on that team who attend McC. That leaves 14 other team members who have ZERO affiliation with McC (outside of maybe some friends) who represented our state to the best of their ability and wrestled their butts off that weekend. That weekend was a first for Tennessee and obviously a small step in the right direction for us as a state. Congratulations TEAM TN BLACK!
