they still have some great hitters and more than just one or two. No other team in their District or Region have the bats that this team has.

 

Hello!!!!! what, did they do buy some new bats? What I remember from last year is they could not score. Because they could not hit the ball, if they were up against good pitching. I am sure they will do good in district play. They lost two of there best bats,Haley and the Farmer girl. Who is replacing them the freshman class?

How many times have you seen us? Not to often if you think these girls cant hit. But just keep telling yourself that and see what happens to your team when they play us.

No other team in the District or Region hit as well as this team, like I said in the previous post when they play the scheduled teams that are NOT in their District and Region is when you will be able to tell how far they will go and how they will do against tougher teams as it gets close to state. The pitchers they had trouble hitting were the same pitchers most teams had trouble hitting. Best I remember they hit Shelby Morris enough to win against MJ and Shelby is an awesome pitcher. Their best bat last year was Cross and she is still there.

Also, it's not there batting, or pitching they will have to play defense and they have been fortunate over the past years. With a new assistant that actually knows how to coach softball and with Coach Powell they should be fine.

Well I think your you are a little off base. I don't think FCS has ever beat MJ in regular season play. At least when Morris was pitching.

I do not have a dog in this fight but I do not remember seeing MJ in the state last year did you? Because I had great hopes of MJ going a very long way and my best friend "birdman" beat me on these picks! So if I was MJ last year will be a year to remember.....that you were losers and did not make it to the "boro" /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />

I don't think that anyone ever said that MJ was in the state. Just clarifying for the record that FCS didn't beat MJ and FCS didn't score.

No we did not beat them during the regular season, but we did beat them in a pre-season game. You may say those games don't mean anything, but for us to beat Mt. Juliet at ANYTIME (and I have the greatest respect for Coach Pedigo) was something huge for us... and Morris did pitch the entire game...

There best batter last year was their catcher and she is still there, Cross, I think. She is the one I hated to face.

      He may have possibly said that to get the best out of him. Back when I was in school word got out I was going to transfer and Coach Story popped off and ask Coach Wilson in front of the team if Maryville was going to get a jock strap in return on this trade. That got back to me and I got fired up and stayed just to show them up. Now today Coach Story is one of my best friends.

      Dylan's Dad, I'm glad you replied. I wanted to reply but wasnt willing to take the bait. There were 20 wrestlers on the team. I may be mistaken and correct me if I'm wrong but I believe 5 of the 20 attend McCallie right now and one will next year. At most, there are/were 6 kids on that team who attend McC. That leaves 14 other team members who have ZERO affiliation with McC (outside of maybe some friends) who represented our state to the best of their ability and wrestled their butts off that weekend. That weekend was a first for Tennessee and obviously a small step in the right direction for us as a state. Congratulations TEAM TN BLACK!

      This is a great question. The retirement seemed a little premature. I do not know the coach personally, but I hope he has found what he is looking for. He is a fine Christian man with a lot of principle and morals about him. I wish him nothing but the best. There are some players in the box for the next coach. This is going to be interesting to see how it plays out.
