When talking best feeders, best middle/junior high programs in the state, Mt. Juliet Middle has to be included. Not only do they win at the middle school level, Coach Johnson consistently send well conditioned, prepared athletes to the high school, where Coach Fryer takes them to the next level. Best feeder/high school program-year in, year out, in the state.

You are likely right and it is along with the Middle School who feeds Wilson Central but the program who makes them both go is the AAU program that feeds both of them in the summer. All of this just feeds itself. Been going on for a long time. would you guess? Now you have found the secret.

Guess Blackman had something to say about that the other night with win over Mt. Juliet. I will not take anything away from Mt. Juliet's program because they are very good but lets not forget siegel and the rest of the teams from Rutherford County

The Junior/Middle school girls team at Middle Tennesse Christian School in Rutherford County has a record 37-0. They are a tough group of girls that shouldnt be left out of this discussion. They also have a great Coach, Cliff Coleman. MTCS beat Mt. Juliet both times they played against them in December during the Eagles Nest Tournament in Lebanon. Mt. Juliet is a pretty good team, Better than some others MTCS has played, but the scores speak for themselves. December 18, 2009 the score MTCS 64- Mt. Juliet 41. Then again in the Championship game, MTCS 60- Mt. Juliet 47.

MTCS is a private school, therefore they dont get the same media coverage as other county schools, but when the College Scouts come around, I can say with 100% confidence, our girls will have no problem getting noticed then!

MTCS is not a high school powerhouse. Never really have been. This years middle school team appears to be good, according to their record, but the high school has no "title" tradition. I can say with 100% confidence if any College Scouts come around, it will be because of the AAU program they play for more than a Single A high school.

Is arrogance also part of the Christian way of learning at MTCS?

The question was "year in and year out". Overton County schools: Livingston Middle, Rickman, Hilham and Allons have sent some pretty good players to Livingston Academy. At the TNT tournament since in started, LMS has won it 9 times, Rickman 2-3 times, Hilham 1-2 times and Allons 1. The first year of the the TNT began in 1989 (I think). Since then Livingston Academy has won 4 state championships and 4 runners-up. Also made to the semifinals in other years. 3 Miss Basketball winners with several nominees in the same time frame. So Overton County has to be in the mix with middle school programs as Livingston Academy is perenially a AA state power. GO HOG-EYE!

    • He may have possibly said that to get the best out of him. Back when I was in school word got out I was going to transfer and Coach Story popped off and ask Coach Wilson in front of the team if Maryville was going to get a jock strap in return on this trade. That got back to me and I got fired up and stayed just to show them up. Now today Coach Story is one of my best friends.
    • Dylan's Dad, I'm glad you replied. I wanted to reply but wasnt willing to take the bait. There were 20 wrestlers on the team. I may be mistaken and correct me if I'm wrong but I believe 5 of the 20 attend McCallie right now and one will next year. At most, there are/were 6 kids on that team who attend McC. That leaves 14 other team members who have ZERO affiliation with McC (outside of maybe some friends) who represented our state to the best of their ability and wrestled their butts off that weekend. That weekend was a first for Tennessee and obviously a small step in the right direction for us as a state. Congratulations TEAM TN BLACK!
    • Danny Wilson is the only one that come's to mind but I don't know where he is at now.
    • I am pro coach all day long but there are some knucklehead hires for sure.
    • This is a great question. The retirement seemed a little premature. I do not know the coach personally, but I hope he has found what he is looking for. He is a fine Christian man with a lot of principle and morals about him. I wish him nothing but the best. There are some players in the box for the next coach. This is going to be interesting to see how it plays out.
