Your right but it really don't matter cause no teams in that district will make it past sub-state! Of the 2 sub state games here are the 4 teams fighting to get them in our region that you will not touch! Grace Christian(who has a great shot at the gold ball), Oliver Springs, Rockwood, or Wartburg! Those 4 teams are very good and have many threats, sorry but 2 of those 4 will be headed for state not anybody up there!

GO TIGERS!!!!!

Oh and Cloudland gave away the game to Wartburg. Down there. So don't you try to feed me that crap /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

Easy Hillbilly Jim or I will be forced to cut what cable u have off up there in the sticks. And yes jethro we are all playing the same game I am glad your on our level now...Thats from a basketball standpoint of view not education /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

And zaza your highlanders should be used to playing the 1 and out card. Does Union City and Culleoka ring a bell?

Trust me it's not going to matter who advances from region 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 or 6 ok I went a little overboard there but back to the point. If you havent heard there is a place called Memphis in this state called Tennessee and each year they probably produce about some of the best players in our state and know matter how good you think your 2 or 3 best players you have playing for you are there is about 7 or 8 down the road in that part for each team.

So get accustomed to moral victories because that is all you are going to be seeing for a while. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

Kingharrold, I don't think anybody had said anything about winning the state tournament and beating Manassas or Humboldt. All anybody has had a goal for is to just make it to Murfeesboro. With a team this young it would be very impressive. I don't think that is too much of a stretch either when you consider that Cloudland has already beat Rockwood and only lost to Wartburg by 4 when the Landers were missing their 2nd best player. Heck, even Unaka beat Rockwood and the Rangers are the #4 team in this district. If Hampton faces Oliver Springs, Rockwood, or Wartburg it will most likely be at Hampton too. I actually went down and watched the Grace-Rockwood game tonight and didn't really think too highly of the powerhouse Rams. Slusher and Pridemore were both off tonight, and I know that they are better than that. But what really got my attention was the lack of an inside game. Last year's Grace team looked alot better to me with Wannamaker and Williams inside. I'm sure that when Grace is hot, they can drill anybody and not have to worry about looking inside. But if you can catch them on an off night (like Rockwood did tonight), then they are very beatable. And you are definitely right about those teams from Memphis. No teams from these first few districts can down there and beat them. I do think, however, that if Grace still had Williams in the paint and if they went to the Boro and shot the lights out (like Unaka did in 2004), they could play with anyone down there...

Catching grace on an off night is rarely going to happen both slusher and pridemore can flat out play I saw then both down at the super 8 in Knoxville not really sure about slushers attitude but playing wise he has got the tools.

And the only thing I am pointing out is your on here constantly talking about Hampton 2 years from now like I said before in one of my previous post's players that calibur sophmore and even some freshman are putting numbers up like that down the road and they will have other good seniors to play around them and be alot bigger alot faster and alot stronger.

Dont get me wrong Hampton is a good team for that area in the small school type of atmosphere. But do you honestly think they are going to be able to compete for 4 quarters even 2 years from now with the more athletic and bigger teams like you said tho I havent heard of it being done since Unaka made it in 03 or 04 and I think they shot 100 percent in the second half which is very odd or is that even true?

Time will only tell if they will be able to compete in a couple of years. Alot of hard work will have to be put in... Unaka had a TON of luck to win the state championship that year. Don't get me wrong, they were a good team. But it just seemed like they got every break imaginable. They beat Cloudland for the district title on a controversial foul call on the Landers with no time left on the clock. In the sub-state they hit a buzzer-beater from about 8 feet behind the 3 point line while falling out of bounds to beat Cosby. In the 1st round of the state they hit a buzzer beater to beat Franklin Road Academy. Also in the 1st round CPA and Greenfield, who most people thought were the 2 best teams in 1A, were defeated in huge upsets. And it is true about the Rangers not missing a single shot in the 2nd half. That came against Temple with Caleb and Seth Skogen. Even though they didn't miss a shot, Unaka still only won by 4. But those teams in 2004, even CPA, are not nearly as good or as athletic as the teams that will be at the 1A state tourney this year. Unaka hit it perfect in the 1 year that they could win it...

Huh? Don't talk about education when an idiot like you gets on here and show no respect for others. I'd rather live up here and be called Jethro than live down there and be called Snoop or Eminem. The Jethros are the ones who founded this country anyway.

Back to basketball: its just like I said. These boys are just playing for the love of the game. Nobody up here is saying we can compete with the teams in Memphis, so just take your trash talking garbage somewhere else.

Was you at the State Tournament in 2004? I think they won by 6.

I wonder where all this Grace Christian stuff and Hampton-bashing came from. I thought this was a congratulatory topic. To be led predominately by sophomores, this years team has been amazing. No-one has said anything about bringing a gold ball home, however, crazier things have happened when the ball gets tossed up. All we've said is how things are looking great for the future of Hampton basketball. I say it's about time! The last time we won the conference and district titles in the same year was SIXTEEN years ago. I thought the group of seniors we had last year would be the ones to bring some championships home, but they couldn't get it done, and now look! I'm thrilled at what they've already accomplished, and can only sit back and enjoy what's to come. Go Dogs!
