Preds out of the phunk

Just when I want to stick a fork in the Predators, they raise their heads (and game) and have now climbed back into the race.

The last period of the chicago game and the Phoenix game thurs nite was some of the best hockey they played all year.

Pekka Rinne is turning into a stud...... He could be Martin Brodeur like.... winning games by himself.

Let's see what happens against detroit saturday...they seem to have our #.

The Preds have finally gotten over the hump, beating Edmonton, and now are officially in the playoff race.

With a five game win streak at this point, and following the ultimate orgasm of beating Detroit 8-0, the minimum wage Preds have done the seemingly impossible.

Questions:

- Where did this goal scoring machine come from? It seemingly started when they put 3 goals on the board against the Blackhawks in the third period a few weeks ago. It was as if the season long fog lifted and the goal mouth got as big as a garage door.

-Will this offensive barrage keep Poile from looking for help? What REALLY is out there to get?

- Did this climb to the top take too much out of the team, or they just really hitting their peak

- Has anyone place a Geiger counter near Rinne and watch the needle jump off the dial?

- Can this carry them A) into the playoffs at the end, or /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" /> into winning a first series for the first time?

All that I know is that if you missed Saturday night vs. the Wings, you probably missed the best sporting experience in Nashville since the Music City Miracle. Where that was one play, this was a full game- a first period at least- when reality was suspended and unadulterated joy roamed free. Noise level, the incredulity of the whole thing- 5 goals in 6 minutes!- that had the fans wondering what they were seeing. If you had never been a fan before, you probably looked into season tickets at the break.

As soon as Sully scored that first goal....He quit squeezing the stick and now seems to be in the right place every time. Now teams can't smother Arnott and Dumont...they gotta find Sully. Leggy has picked up his game and it is obvious from the effort. If this guy would bring it all year, he could score 30. And Ward...ever since he made that little move across the goal mouth and scored, his confidence level has risen.... and it seems to have rubbed off on everyone else.

Pekka Rinne is white hot.....and even though he allowed a softie against Edmonton, he made several great saves,,,the quickest glove in hockey. The goal looks so small when he stretches out.

And the detroit game....What can be said....The place was electric, the wings fans were shut up early and it was the most fun I've had in a while.

Now comes Columbus....last of the 5 game home stand....This should be a great game but honestly, if we play a little defense, we win 4-2.

    • Yea I agree I will say tho I was a big “ v “ fan if an  opening ever did happen I think it would’ve been good to see him have a shot coming from a power house like Oakland. I’m sure he’s learned a lot from Kevin.  I bet he would bring a really good offense scheme IMO But after all this I just dunno anymore.  Whatever happens with the rumors an such if it did come to and opening I think this messes it all up.  The board members dreams are slowly slipping away now. I haven’t lived there for awhile I just hear what I hear, but my question is would there be any good potential candidates?? That’s why I don’t understand why people want b s out so bad who else could do any better ?? IMO there’s nothing attractive about it? As I stated earlier I went to the last game last year and taking a leak in a porta Potty is pretty sad and still nothing being done they say ..
    • I have a sophomore that can do 177 (preferred) or 192. Sent you an email.
    • speaking of board members how can a man get arrested 12 days ago and still be head coaching a team in TC school system? looks like your right about the tc board members. I bet it would be different if they had a kid on the team
