It should have been a Tech foul right off the bat and every other time they said it. If the coaches couldnt stop it the ref was standing right there he should have. Now I know not all people from Dekalb are like that but the few ruin it for all. There were several parents that had their small children there that were very upset that they let it contiunue. I know if it would have been LA students they would have got there buts chewed and would have had to sat down and shut up. Coach Melton did ask them not to do things like that during the second half and the LA students respected him and stuck to our usuall chants. You would think that Dekalb would have the same respect for their coaches and players and im sure most do. Enought bout that. Now to the game. LA played a good game and I think it was officiated fairly well tonight. Dekalb players have had a excelent year and a good run thru the tourny with a few upsets along the way.Congrads on a good season see yall next year!

Why can't you put your thumping on a team and not whine over what a bunch of so called "idiot kids" have to say about it. LA's student section had a couple kids taking shirts off and acting like they wanted to do something. Not a whole bunch of class there either. Just kids showing their tail. Isn't it enough to have the real HOG-EYE cheer rocking the house at the end of the game?

LA fans weren't the only ones who should have been offended by the so called "idiot kids". Surely you aren't saying that it's OK for vulgarity like that to be tolerated. There were small children in the gym as well elderly grandparents (and every age group in between). No one should have to listen to that. IMO the tournament officials, DeKalb's coaching staff, or DeKalb's parents should have escorted the entire group of "idiot kids" out.

Yes the chants were not classy. I will back up Cleandog 20 on this. There were a couple of the kids that wouldnt stop. Then i saw dekalb kids cheering on with upperman doing the same thing. I also apologize it got taken out of hand, good game livingston yall are tough will beat upperman by 10+ and should make a good run to state. Good luck hopefully you and upperman both make it to state. Ill be at the game thurs and substate, so you better win.

I am a huge Dekalb Co. fan and would hate that a bunch of kids would damper the season dekalb was able to put forth this season. Preseason 6th place prediction to 19-12 is not bad. 6 losses to upperman and livingston. Livingston has an unbelievable team, coach and fans and i would hate that everyone would think so less of our program because of a bunch of idiot kids. I know for a fact that coach martin sent his asst. shockley to tell the kids that that was enough and that wasnt the type of class to show. They kept on so he sent a manager to one of the administrators from dekalb to no avail the stupid chants continued. I am just telling you what i saw and heard. Coach martin is all about class and repects the La program very much and wished he could take our program to where you guys are. So i apologize on behalf of all Dekalb co. fans and dont let this ignorance tarnish our whole program because our coach and players bust their tails. Best of luck to 7-AA. Upperman and LA what a final to tuff to call. I know dekalb wished they could have played alot better but give LA all the credit.

Unfortunately, I did not make it to the game as I had another obligation to fulfill. However, I was told about the chant and that is without question classless. We all, as adults, know that most student sections are going to get a little rowdy at times. We can only hope that the students will use a little common sense when it comes to figuring out where to draw the line. If they struggle with the"drawing the line" concept, then that is where the school administrators must step in. And when I speak of administrators, I am speaking of coaches, the principal, or even members of the faculty. As for the Dekalb kids, it may be an effort to re-organize the infamous "Heada's army." Most on here are probably not old enough to remember that "crew" but believe me they were radical. If you look at their name, it shouldn't take you long to figure out the implication. All students should support their school, but do it in a way that the players, coaches, and the community can be proud.

Of course Smith Co. students don't talk that way. /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="

Nor LA's under the right circumstances? The cheer for LA is something steeped in tradition and held dear by it's fans. When you are successful, up 30 the entire game, the other teams fans will respond in all kinds of ways. I recall hearing the alternate cheer more than once over the years. Its not like Dekalbs students were original! Face it, we live in a WWF, Pro sport, trash talk age and that's exactly what it is trashy. Again the real HOGEYE cheer rocked the house when it mattered. I think that's the one most everybody, kids included, will remember.
