Bearden has had a great season so far this year and will most likely make it to State unless a severe lapse of focus on their part. But to say that Bearden is hands down the best team ever from some of these posters is mind blowing. There have been many over the years that garner attention like Bearden, and Bearden must win it FIRST to be considered just one of the great teams of all time. People are quick to forget White Station's loaded team from top to bottom for a few years. I know the western fans don't give East TN any respect when it comes to basketball, but Science Hill went on a tear in the early 90s. In 1990, they went 37-1, in 1994 they went 37-2, and 1995 they went 37-3 while winning state championships all those years. In 1991, they went 34-2 and lost in the State Cahmpionship game by one point (55-54). Pitts rotated five in and out. It didn't matter who was on the floor, the Hilltoppers took care of business each and EVERY night. Going 74-3 in their back to back State Titles and blowing out their opponents (79-62 in 94 & 77-56 in 95) is worthy to be called one of the greatest teams ever. Where Bearden will stack up, don't know yet. Their final chapter to the story hasn't been written yet. That Science Hill team your naming is in my opinion the best team to play in Tennessee... they beat some good teams by 100 point margins... and they were ranked number 2 in the nation at one point.

all the science hill teams in the early and mid 90's were better than this bearden team in my opinion. the 95 team beat number one ranked oak hill with then high school player of the year ron mercer. i do think bearden may very well win the state championship this season.

i said on another post if bearden keeps the rotation that they have and do not keep their main STUDS on the court then they will not win state. i saw this in the arby's classic, they had better talent but chose to stay with the rotation and a good team beat them. also their lack of a point guard will cost them the state. i saw them try to put 2 or 3 different guys at the poin in the arby's and with quality pressure they threw all over the gym

whoa whoa whoa!! lack of PG?! u obviously havnt seen bearden really play then b/c the 5'8 PG they have is very talented!! he kind of reminds me of the PG Fulton had last year or the PG Liberty had the 2 years before that. Come on man you gotta give that guy a lil more respect than that!

    • The winds of change are blowing in Hartsville.     Will be an interesting follow.
    • Did he promise you a coordinator job or something if he ever got a head coaching job? He resigned? He was at the top of the dugout last night calling plays. I wonder if those 30+ parents would let him give their kids a ride. by the way the board meeting was last night and it was not mentioned. must have been at the work session earlier this week which is not public. must be trying to keep it quiet.  Since you know so much, how much is Robbie Atwood willing to pay Adam Cothron?  Didn't you slander Eden earlier on here? You also didn't know he was a faculty coach again so how much do you really know? Some people outside this county baffle me with their need to slander others.
    • He resigned smh, and have you ever heard of charged but not convicted. Some people in this county baffle me with their need to slander others. Have you asked any of the 30+ parents that signed a petition to get him reinstated at the board meeting this week how they feel about this? Just let it play out, at the end of the day the only people that will bring TC back are the ones that know what its about at its core.    People hate losing and they aren't used to it at TC. I for 1, and I'm sure others too, understand having a dip in talent and not being able to compete for a state title every year. But in the past, TC teams have outworked more talented teams, they didn't continuously lose the turnover battle, they didn't commit 8+ penalties in several games each season, and I believe several of the folks in town that want Blake out feel as if he is neglecting the history of the program. This is from a source that used to be extremely close to the program (not me lol), Blake gets out of school midday and the players show up and there is no practice plan or itinerary.  I also understand those that are on team Blake, when he has loads of talent, he wins. He does know football and he is a tremendous DC, and if the rumors are true then he will do great things. As for the board member issue, it is what it is, everyone that's true to the county know that and nothing has changed. I agree though that they should strive to make the facilities as good as we can. And as far as potential candidates, I agree there is very few options. West, Vetetoe (yes I know), and couple others that could have some interest. Whatever happens is massive for the program during a pivotal time before the next big wave of stars make their way through.
