TSSAA reports RE record to be 33-2. Coacht has it at 32-2. Does anybody know what is the deal with the discrepency? How does the city championship work in Memphis? Do you play a small tournament to win it, or are two teams just placed in the city championship game? What is the atmosphere like for that and where is it held?

Don't know about the discrepancy.

There are 2 City Championships, AA and AAA

The regular season leader of District 15 plays the leader of District 16. In the case of the AAA game, you have 2 City Schools not in District 15. Raleigh-Egypt and Craigmont are in District 14, but's it's included with District 15. In AA, all the City Schools are in 15 or 16.

Have yet to attend one(always have to go support my old school in Mississippi playoffs). But from the look on the news. It's as good an atmosphere as you can get.

Currently, it's held at White Station High School. A few years ago it was held at the Mid-South Coliseum on the Fairgrounds. Before that, it was at the Pyramid Arena.

This year, Booker T. Washington won the boys and girls AA title. In AAA, it was Raleigh-Egypt's boys and Central's girls.

The Mphs City Championships are held every year at White Station High School (they used to be held at the Mid-South Coliseum, years ago). 4 games in 1 day, for just 1 admission price.

The atmosphere is nothing short of ELECTRIFYING, EXHILARATING and intense, even for the girls games (no disrespect)!

White Station has a HUGE gym that holds a ton of people. Yet, it still retains that "cozy" feel.... The gym is usually packed to the rafters, for the City Championships, with many folks standing down in the corners. This combines to create an excellent climate for some very exciting basketball!

The annual MIAA City Championships is a definite don't-miss, premier event for High School basketball fans. Plus, it's the biggest bargain in town! Personally, I've attended every year for as long as I can remember.... I wouldn't miss it!

Excellent win by RE. Beech had a nice game plan with 1-3-1 zone that gave RE fits all game.
