In A-AA, the top 4 finishers from each regional will advance to the sectional round. In addition, the next 4 finishers (outside the top 4 in each regional) will also advance to sectionals. In sectionals, the top 2 advance to state competition. Then the next 2 times from all the sectionals will also advance. In AAA... get someone else to explain it.
