So quite a big game for the US men tonight right in the heart of Tennessee at the LP field in Nashville.

Now I know it is a school night and Soccer is not that huge a sport in the State, but to be honest the marketing for the game has been non-existent. I would imagine there would be a good size crowd there maybe more than at US v Morocco a couple of years ago (26,000 +), but unless you are in the soccer 'community' most people have no idea the game is even on tonight in the local area.

Have US Soccer made the decision to just go after what they have and not try to entice any more 'non' soccer fans, how has the game been advertised / spotlighted in your local media?

p.s. Anybody going tonight?

Definitely going and have also seen ads in the evening the past few weeks or so on the local stations in the evenings and certainly lots of email notices.

But why play on a WEDNESDAY night? Makes travel pretty hard for those who can't take time off from work. A Friday night game would have gotten much more attendance.

I just don't think US soccer plans things around their fans. I think they could use some positive P.R. Right now, with the abysmal result from the last World Cup, they could use all the good public relation that they can get.

Maybe I am alone in feeling this, but they certainly haven't done a good job in getting a good fan base outside of the die hard fans that would have gone regardless.

I know in the past they have mostly played these games on wednesday nights, it might something to do with ESPN.
