Oakland came out strong and were very aggressive to the ball. Then it was like someone flipped a switch. They started giving space and retreating instead of attacking in the last 15 minutes of the first half. Riverdale scored 4 goals in the last 10 minutes of the half. Second half was more possession for Riverdale and lots of chances that were not finished. This score could have been much worse. The last goal came with less than a minute to play.

Oakland raised over $800 for the storm victims last night. A very generous deed.

Riverdale will follow suit and do the same on Thursday night.

Well pretty sure the game was very even throughout the first half until around 9 min left when Josh Sanders drew up a pk for Riverdale. This made the game 1-0. When this happened everyone saw Oakland go down and which they gave up 3 goals back to back with in 4 minutes....That was the deciding point Riverdale can do anything at anytime of the game if a team gives up. 2nd half was very physical and which the game was controlled in the middle. Oakland continued to change offenses and different formations but couldnt get a chance in although they had few.

The score should of been different. Not worse at all but better in Oaklands favor.

We did raise $876 for the victoms of last weeks tornados.

Oakland plays Friday.

Well despite the bias of the ref on the field, it was a hard fought game. Riverdale played hard and didn't let up. Riverdale is certainly more composed and disciplined and it paid off. Would have had 4 goals but Patrick Compton's goal was taken away due to a questionable offsides call on another player.

Internet finally up or I would have posted last night. Well said " rhssoccerbro " , Riverdale definetly the better team last night. But sometimes in soccer the better team doesn't win. As in last nights game , a miscue by Blackman goalie on the first score, a non call in the box ( handball ), very obvious , on a shot by Blackman , a non call inthe box ( Blackman forward tackled ) , and finally a clean slide tackle by Blackman called a foul which turned into a goal .So , it could have been say 3-3 in a perfect world . But thats soccer and we move on . Big wakeup call for Blackman .

There is a lot I could say about this post or others, but I will just state the facts on this game.

Riverdale came to play ball as they do in every game. That says something about the players and the coaching staff.

The refs made some bad calls and some good calls as every ref does in every game and these good and bad calls went both ways. Players and parents should read the thread on "ref/admin meeting before game"

Riverdale scored three sweet goals and should have had at least two more on break aways but Kyle Applebee made some gutsy plays to prevent them.

Justin Cronin's upper 90 set play shot was beautiful.

Riverdale played together as a team, scored 3 goals by three different players and got the result that they work for 2 to 3 hours every day to get. Congrats to the Warriors.
