cbg
What school truly has the best overall high school track & field program in Tennessee? This should be a team that competes well in sprints, field events & distances races. Is coaching the main factor that makes this schools track & field program better than the other schools? allsec1985
I am looking for a little information not to bash anyone. Check out Brentwood High School boys. Excellent in decathlon, 800m+ distances, and field events. Two consecutive State Championships.
ebbybm
Most of your private schools will always be rated higher and considered best overall because they have a balance of everything (every event). Not all, but most. Schools like MBA, Brentwood Academy, Harpeth Hall, and Ensworth (up and coming) in the Middle TN area. Much props to them. itzme
If you're talking overall excellence and consistency, it's Brentwood Academy. Period. If you're looking at public schools, I think I'd take Bearden, Oak Ridge, Houston, Maryville and Brentwood, although that varies year to year. It is mostly about coaching. Not so much the technical aspects, although that is important, but more about which coaches can spot the talent in their student body, and get them to come out for T&F rather than some other Spring sport. ebbybm
Yea is some aspects. There are a lot of good coaches but they battle lack of resources as well as some trying to coach a whole team on their own. It does make a difference. But thats an old argument. Just make due with what ya got.
