Big "ups" to to Hunters Lane Boys for finishing 2nd overall. The finals were hot with a 200m showdown between three top sprinters from Hunters Lane (Jaz Davis (Jr), Joseph Short (Sr), and Rodney Darden (Sr)). It was another photo finish with Jaz getting the nod for 1st. However, Joesph won the 100m and 400m with DeAngelo Gray (Sr) from Stratford and Rodney Darden from Hunters Lane finishing 2nd in the respected races. Hunters Lane's Boys 4 X 100 broke a 26 year meet record with a time of 41.86 in the prelims. They were also 4 X 100 Champions, which included freshman Michael Brown. The 4 X 400 represented.

Louisana Tech signee, Quanisha Sales, as usual, lit up the night. She was named one of the meets mvp. She was blazing in the 100m, 200, and the anchor for the relays. Sophomore sensation, Jordan Lavender from University School of Nashville, will definitely "pick up the baton" from Quanisha when she runs into the sunset. "Props" to Akira McSwain from Hunters Lane. The senior won the 100m hurdles and was runner up in the 300m hurdles. She anchored the 4 X 100 edging out Hillsboro for the Championship.

Martin Luther King's girls are a well balanced group of girls. They finished second to Ensworth. These ladies have only one senior, and are led by junior, Kirsten Jones. They should be a top contender for the state crown.

Ensworth also had a great show. Both the boys and girls teams are very young, but the girls are lacking sprints and throws, and the boys are lacking sprints and jumps big time. "Props" to the boys throwing and distance there, and to the girls jumps and distance.
