After unconfirmed reports began circulating last week regarding Little Jerry playing for the Raiders last year in possibly more than one basketball game. Howard E. Spears, Director of Basketball Compliance, reviewed Little Jerry's academic records and found that Little Jerry still had two seasons of eligibility remaining. Therefore, no sanctions will be given to the basketball program. In other news, the Administration hired Buster last week to fill the vacancy left by the beloved Coach Duvall. Buster also assumed the position as recruiting coordinator. Buster immediately sent Little Jerry a scholarship offer, which Jerry accepted.

The addition of Little Jerry to the Raiders backcourt will certainly increase the Raiders chances of being successful this year. Anyone who has played against Jerry knows that he is a tremendous ball-defender and play-maker. The addition of Buster to the Coaching staff along with Little Jerry's commitment has generated a great deal of excitement for theupcoming season. In addition, Buster called in from the recruiting trail to announce that practice will begin the first week of October.

This is great news for local Basketball fans. The addition of Buster to the coaching staff shows that the administration is committed to restoring the basketball program to championship level.

Lil Jerry may still be academicly eligible but would the fact that he is 20 something keep him from play Middle Scholl ball? Also, his defensive abilities are a big question mark. His D is what keeps him from being a #1 draft pick at the park every week! Buster is a huge pick-up for the coaching staff, I do mean HUGE! Combine his basketball knowledge with Larry's and you still have Larry's knowledge! Maybe Buster could be in charge of conditioning, he could be a great leader by example!!! LOL

I have decided to accept the assistant coaching position at Lewis County Middle School. I believe working with two great coaches such as Smith and Larry will not only help the young players learn but also me.In my first offical move as assistant I am naming Travis Mckissack head water boy/man,since he did so well for me at Memorial Park. Thanks for the opportunity coach!

Thanks Keltner, this is an opportunity of a lifetime. I have spend countless hours preparing myself for this moment. I vow to you and the whole Raiders staff and team to do the best job as waterboy, that I can possibly do!!! With this chance, Keltner, you have changed my life forever and I will be forever grateful. As tears of joy stream down my face now, I look forward to the beginning of practice and the season. :)

    • He may have possibly said that to get the best out of him. Back when I was in school word got out I was going to transfer and Coach Story popped off and ask Coach Wilson in front of the team if Maryville was going to get a jock strap in return on this trade. That got back to me and I got fired up and stayed just to show them up. Now today Coach Story is one of my best friends.
    • Dylan's Dad, I'm glad you replied. I wanted to reply but wasnt willing to take the bait. There were 20 wrestlers on the team. I may be mistaken and correct me if I'm wrong but I believe 5 of the 20 attend McCallie right now and one will next year. At most, there are/were 6 kids on that team who attend McC. That leaves 14 other team members who have ZERO affiliation with McC (outside of maybe some friends) who represented our state to the best of their ability and wrestled their butts off that weekend. That weekend was a first for Tennessee and obviously a small step in the right direction for us as a state. Congratulations TEAM TN BLACK!
