after all this time a thread is named after old hablo.

1daddy, the conspiracy of which you speak is foreign to me. therefore, i will have to put the ball back in your court on this one. i try not to talk about things of which i know nothing. but i do know this: there was a second shooter on the grassy knoll. that i can assure you.

YOU'LL HAVE TO ENLIGHTEN ALL THE CREEKERS ON THIS ONE.

as for the donald ensor unicoi murmurings that i reported hearing a couple of weeks ago, i have heard nothing else. in fact, i understand that english is the head man there now, so i guess all bets are off,- to the relief of everyone on the creek

Coach Ensor is not going anywhere. He has a top notch class A program that can compete with some of the areas best teams. Mark my word, they will be a good team when season end rolls around this year. And I think thay will be really special next season. They work their tails off, players and coaches and refuse to look at the size schools that they play. I think they will be better next season than they were this past season. They have a good group of players who love to play and they will only have one Senior this season. As for Coach Chambers, He is one of the best young coaches in this area. Mark my word, he played as many as 7 freshmen last season. They will be a dominate force for the next several seasons. Unaka boys and girls are fortunate to have some of the finest basketball coaches in this area.

Unaka also has two excellent baseball coaches in coach Ensor and Coach Long.

at ease t-dog, the rumors are at rest. however, i'm still waiting on 1daddy to elaborate on the conspiracy. is kenneth chambers responsible for global warming? does he know where jimmy hoffa is? perhaps he is in the process of trying to obtain top governmental secrets in order to take over the world? or maybe he paid the 1919 white sox to throw the series. at any rate, i would love to know about this conspiracy. tell me 1daddy, if that is in fact your real name..........

    • Lee would have been a good choice, also.  I'm sure Benny was involved with the decision.
    • Personally I was pulling for Lee Hammonds to get another shot. He’s earned it!
    • Tyler Williams was the logical choice to be named head football. He served as the Highlanders’ strength coach and offensive coordinator.
    • I went to practice yesterday and liked what I saw for the most part. Derek and crew have done a good job during the off-season. I was very impressed with the size of some of those boys on the offensive line. My only regret was one of the boys I was really pulling for to have a good year was dismissed from the team. I have to applaud the coaches for setting examples for the others, no one is bigger than the team. One other thing, I was hoping with that big rain we got this week some of that  yellow paint would dissolve but it didn't.
    • Couple of thoughts: 1.  I just don't understand all the intricacies in TSSAA transfer rules anymore.    William Blount had a kid that played the final part of the basketball season with them this year,  that played at Hardin Valley last year, and played football for Bearden this year.  I say that to say, I know the coaches and the AD and the Principal at WB and I will never believe they would do something they knew was wrong.  They are men of character.  I BELIEVE the same thing about the coaches and administration at Maryville.  Call me gullible, but these are men and women of integrity in my experiences with them. 2.  Much like the transfer of the Clemmer kid a couple of years ago, with Smith, the football team is getting a huge boost, but the impact on the basketball team will be just as great or maybe even greater.  With Smith playing post, it frees the Sigmund kid who will be coming back from injury, to play more with his face to the basket.  The Rebels basketball squad in my mind, will be "the program" in East Tennessee next year.
