Can someone help me to understand what makes a team a " TRUE " gold team? Who makes this decision and how?

Can someone help me to understand what makes a team a " TRUE " gold team? Who makes this decision and how?

 

 

To be a true ASA Gold team, all they have to do is register as a Gold team. Once they register and submit their roster, there are restrictions upon that team. They cannot play in any ASA event that leads to the 18U ASA/USA Championship (National Qualifiers, Regional Qualifiers, Metro Qualifiers, any tournamemt that will award a bid to the 18U ASA/USA Championship).

 

They can still participate in invitationals and showcases as long as no berths are being awarded.
