Curious about the Cyclones. Who does the damage for them on offense? From photos looks like the QB is a pretty stout kid, is he a runner or passer? How about the D?

Good luck going over to the other side of the mountains, represent this side well. :thumb:

I have been talking to a college buddy of mine who graduated from Elizabethton, and he said the QB is a very solid dual threat player. He has a very good arm, but can also run it pretty well too. I'm really looking forward to seeing Elizabethton play Asheville tonight. I have never seen either team play, but I want to see Elizabethton a good play game and represent East Tenn well.

Last year ryan was more of a runner and throw when he had too but coach witten took him and the recievers to a couple of 7 on 7 in the off season. They actually won in chattanooga and there was some good teams in that 7 on 7.He is a great athlete and is playing great football right now. This is the best defense the cyclones have had since jason witten played back in 2000.We have alot of players playing both ways but they have worked there butts off lifting and training getting ready for this season and it is paying off.

Cyclones get ripped off on a terrible call and lose 10-3! R. Thomas runs a TD with about 3min to go for about 40 yards and get called back on a late flag for block in the back, which would have gave the Cyclones the lead 10-3 in a monsoon. But we ended up turning it over on downs, then they punt back to us,we go for it on fourth and a yard and fumble on like the 20,then get and unsportsman like which gave it to them first and goal on the six.Two plays later there in with 1:53 on the clock! But it was Asheville coach going for his 100th win so that explained the poor calls! They were good but not that good!

Go Cyclones!!!

This game could have went either way if that touchdown would of not been called back or we would quit turning the ball over.We give them the go ahead score with that turnover and then personal foul that put them at about the 10 yard line.Ryan is playing great football but he needs to hold on to the ball better. We all were wanting a win but this game really doesn't mean anything.I will say one thing about asheville there offensive and defensive lines were huge looked like a college team.Lets go betsy long season yet to go and some big games to play.GO CYCLONES

    • Both places Woods has been at have gotten better pretty quickly after his arrival. If you can win consistently in Metro while having to fend off the vultures from picking your roster clean, your doing something right
    • They typically have a handful of black kids (nothing at all wrong with that, it’s great), but these past few years both sides of the ball have been primarily black kids. Again, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that, in general, all I’m saying is that the past few seasons or so, the teams demographics just doesn’t match what it has been, historically speaking. And that didn’t start, until Keith got there. That’s all I’m saying. Rather odd how that just starts magically happening ever since he got there.
    • I have always known Clinton and the football team to be diverse. Not saying its like Knox but I would say more so than you're leading onto. Maybe more kids are wanting to play for a minority coach like that OL that commityed to Colorado over UT due to Deion "looking like him"- Jordan Seaton
    • It’s just the facts. Not sure how else to put it.
    • As a parent, this was always my worst nightmare.  I take it for granted every time I get in the car and took it for granted most of the time when one of my sons was on the wrestling mat.  Sometimes things are not "going to be fine". Jacob was wrestling in a Greco match at Iron Man when he was thrown.  He landed on his head and neck and shattered his C6 and C7.  His spinal cord was offset which is not good. He is currently at Vanderbilt Childrens in Nashville and has undergone a big surgery to brace his neck with pins and screws and realign his spinal cord, but damage has been done.  He is currently not able to move his legs or control his fingers.  I visited him yesterday and this young man has a long row to hoe. I'm asking the wrestling community here in TN to lift his family up in prayer and come together to help.  He will likely have to go to Shephard Center in Atlanta which is going to require his mom and dad to take off work, travel, eat out, etc. Jacob does have some feeling in his lower extremities, so we are praying he will be able to recover.  Time will tell and God is in control. If you are unable to donate $5-10, please offer up prayers for Jacob to heal completely and for patience and strength for his parents as they are no doubt dealing with a worst nightmare. GO FUND ME for JACOB   gofund.me/22e00da8 Thanks, Matt Sells - Blackman Wrestling
