PrepVolleyball.com is proud to present its Senior Aces, the top 250 volleyball recruits in the Class of 2010. We’ve been working hard since May to identify and compile a list of the best U.S. recruits in the next senior class. The sole criterion was potential impact over four years at the next level. High school achievement was not a factor nor was the university they would attend. Foreign players were not considered. Many on the list you are familiar with, but there will be just as many whose names you may never have come across.

Compiling the list has been an arduous task. I have a contact list of about 120 college coaches who have asked to be involved in the process. They received the initial list of several hundred names May 7 for comment and at least four more times thereafter.

To date, more than 70 coaches have participated. While I can’t reveal their names, I can assure you that I received input from the four corners of this country and many places in between. The college coaches themselves are solely responsible for the names on this list. PrepVolleyball.com’s only role was to act as facilitator. There were, understandably, some disagreements. Lots of disagreements, actually. Coaches evaluate talent differently. That made this process frustrating at times, but much more challenging. I am encouraged because, at the end, most coaches felt that the process had produced the best list possible.

Is the list perfect? No. Is it scientific? No. Will players not on the list emerge as future All-Americans and impact players at their respective colleges and universities? Undoubtedly.

What this list represents is the best effort of some of America ’s most fertile volleyball minds to identify the top recruits at a snapshot in time. Nothing more. Nothing less. I thank profusely the college coaches who participated. This list would not be possible without you.

317, it is very appropriate and with much interest that you posted this post. It is also of interest that many on this site had already mentioned these on this site, maybe not necessarily as much by name but Tournament play is so much a way of life in High School Volleyball for about two and a half months a year and with summer play, players, fans and students just know the good players by name or number or by school. Most Tournaments don't acknowledge all tournament teams but do acknowledge Schools and from that since tournaments do promote schools, one just knows who had to have done well. Players from schools become known by number, or by position or if someone has signed, who they signed with. Some Invitationals do recognize AT's as did Father Ryan this past weekend.

The posters on this site from all parts of the state are aware of its good players and are not bashful of recognizing their efforts. Some do it by stats, some do ot by posts and some do it by recognition of School records. Some do it by all three. Everyone likes to recognize play that is well done and crowds are drawn during Tournament play when excellence in on the court. Players like to see it.

Its also good to know those who are in the middle of the recognition process and know that here in Tennessee players from thru the STATE are considered. Some years none were it seemed. This was a good post and well done.

Congrats to all of these young ladies as well as the others that I am sure are just as worthy.

I think that it is wonderful to see two girls from this class going to join the University of Tennessee. UT had been without a homegrown talent on their squad for about 7 or 8 years until 2 years ago when they added Harrison. They followed that up with the addition of Rebekah Smith and Jasmine Brown last season. It is my understanding that all three are doing well and should be contributors for the Lady Vols this season.

Going from 0 to 5 in a span of 3 years (roughly 1/3 of the team) is a testament to the quality of growth in Volleyball in the state.

Check, actually Ann Mullins from Father Ryan was on the Tennesee Volleyball team for one or two seasons. This was approximately four years ago. :flower:

You are correct, Ann played at Tennessee 2003 and 2004 seasons, started as a freshman, got hurt, transfered to Lipscomb, rest is history.

My apologies to Ann. I knew there was a young lady from Farragut there around 2000 when I was there, but injuries never allowed her to get on the court. Can't say that I kept the closest of tabs on their roster until last year when Rebekah committed. When Rebekah committed last season, they made mention of something about it getting TN girls. Now that I think back on it, it may be the first time that they have more than one TN girl @ the same time....again, my apologies to Ann.

Actually, in the early 80's under Coach Bob Bertucci they had 3, and later 4, Tennesseans on the UT Lady Vols roster. Cousins Kim and Pam Hackler signed out of Norris High School (what is now Anderson County); and Beverly Garner, out of East Ridge High School in Chattanooga; were all in the same class. A year later they added Pam McMahan out of Doyle High School (what is now South Doyle).

That team won the SEC that year.

Two of those players, Pam Hackler and Beverly Garner, have children playing high school volleyball right now at Karns High in Knoxville and Ooltewah High.

    • Yea I agree I will say tho I was a big “ v “ fan if an  opening ever did happen I think it would’ve been good to see him have a shot coming from a power house like Oakland. I’m sure he’s learned a lot from Kevin.  I bet he would bring a really good offense scheme IMO But after all this I just dunno anymore.  Whatever happens with the rumors an such if it did come to and opening I think this messes it all up.  The board members dreams are slowly slipping away now. I haven’t lived there for awhile I just hear what I hear, but my question is would there be any good potential candidates?? That’s why I don’t understand why people want b s out so bad who else could do any better ?? IMO there’s nothing attractive about it? As I stated earlier I went to the last game last year and taking a leak in a porta Potty is pretty sad and still nothing being done they say ..
    • I have a sophomore that can do 177 (preferred) or 192. Sent you an email.
    • speaking of board members how can a man get arrested 12 days ago and still be head coaching a team in TC school system? looks like your right about the tc board members. I bet it would be different if they had a kid on the team
