BigTuna
The TV sports guy called last week's Karns win over Powell a "breakout" victory. But then again, after a convincing win over Campbell County a few weeks ago the Beavers traveled to Central for a "breakdown" loss. Will the homecoming aura help or hurt? Who are the big guns for Halls? Have Halls' games been competitive or are they still trying to measure up to the competition? Any Red Devil faithful out there? I promise you will have no trouble finding a Red Devil Faithful! Halls is still fighting for their first win and for us Red Devil Faithfuls, hopefully it will be this week. Aside from Webb and AC (where numerous turnovers did not help) the games have been close. Halls guys have fought till the end and their game play is not a reflection of the score board. Win or lose, I promise you that Halls will be one of the hardest if not THE hardest fighting team Karns will play all season! Good luck to all...Especially those RED DEVILS and hoping for safe travels to and from the game!
inboard
I think Halls will win ONLY if these coaches don't wear the same 11 players out. They are tired by the third quarter and need relief. There is plenty of talent standing on the sidelines that can do the job. Yes these boys on the sidelines also have talent. I have watched them win all or almost all of their games for years. We need more depth. I can see coaches from other teams: while offence is in they have the defense around them with their dry erase boards planning out their next move. (Our coaches are standing there screaming at the boys, no plan, no dry erase boards with X's and O's.) There lies your problem. I have watched these same boys go to the championship (and even win) year after year after year after year, lets just say EVERY YEAR. They never had any size. They were always a small team. The coaches adjusted for that. We had a tiny quarterback and a small center too. That didn't matter at all. We also had plenty of plays too. They had more plays their Cutter year with Teddy Williams than they do now. I sit in the stands and listen to the people around me. A grandmother calling the next play, college boys who played at Halls saying, and I quote "they've done that play 3 times already". When I hear women telling what the next play is, I think the other team has it figured out too by the end of the first quarter. These coaches need to be playing ALL of their seniors too. They have put in not only 4 years, but even 11 or 12 years. They are ALL good athletes. If the position they are in right now is not right for them, find them a position that they can get some playing time in. It's not brain surgery, just plain old commen sense. As for Blakely, TK did him a favor. I've watched him play football, baseball, basketball (and all the other seniors on this team too) since he was a small child. He is a natural in all sports. I also watched Anderson County's coach put his arm around him EVERY time he came off the field and talked to him. Halls can pull out their first win if the team gets up on a positive note. They have been drug through the mud physically and mentally and on here too. I agree that these coaches need to step up and start coaching. The players are only doing what they are told to go out and do. I'm sure their self confidence is at an all time low. This team HAS the ability to win and win big. Go Red Devils!!! gokarns09
well halls you are in trouble if Boden checks rhe plays all night, Karns really put it on the panthers and can score points at will as long as you guys are starting some fresh at db. My boys have already won more than us last year so have to give them props but the fact still remains halls is looking fo rits first win and karns is usally the team to get it on/
thekidd0086
I think Halls will get their first win Friday night for the simple fact that i have seen both teams play Clinton and I think Halls is a better team Good Luck to both teams
osunut2
Both of these teams have improved since August, but I think Halls is due for a win. Desperation prevails as Halls wins, 28-20.
ZCAR
Rain in the forecast what a surprise. I have a great feeling this one could be ours. Impressed with Kyle Boden and passing game at Karns this year. But............ the Halls defense in the rain neutralizes that I think. Running game looked healthy last week besides the you know what I mean(that which shall not be named.)bugger boo. I have Halls making a statement. Lets shuffle some of the Sophmores in late and try to play all the hard working kids. Go Devils.
Knoxbball3
Looks like Boden is finding his rythym. sorry Halls, that first win has to wait Karns 21 - Halls
ljwm5767
Red Devil faithful here. I hope this is our week. We are due a win. I hope our guys stay up and are ready to play. I agree we lack depth, but I here the reason they play the same guys every down is the others aren't focused at practice or practice lazy. I am a firm believer that you practice how you play. Now, maybe that lies on the coaches shoulders to get them ready and focused. But what do I know, I think Freshman should be able to play varsity, or at least dress for that crazy chance we are up so much or down so much they might get a play or two in. Just my opinions. banter2009
Looks like Boden is finding his rythym. sorry Halls, that first win has to wait Karns 21 - Halls 13 Knoxbball3....I'm gonna disagree with you on this one. These boys have a lot of frustration to get out tonight, not only because they are wanting that first win, but also because their head coach has not been very supportive these days....so this may be their night. Halls has not reflected their game play on the scoreboard this season. If Karns hasn't seen a hard playing team so far, they better be ready tonight. I know these boys and they want a win in the worst way...especially the seniors which are our hardest playing guys. So, I'm gonna flip your score and say HALLS WINS Game 1 tonight. Go HALLS!
