I hate to hear things like this, especilly when kids are involved. The kids (freshmen) should be having the times of their lives and making good memories, not stuff like this. Yes, thoughts and prayers from Smith Co.. Things like this should make us ALL stop, think and be thankful of what we have and take for granted. It can all change in a blink of an eye. I hope the Greenbrier community can come together and support these kids all they can.

Doesn't this just make you want to hug your kids a little more??

Donations are being accepted at Greenbriar High School, make checks or money orders out to the school and the mailing address is 126 Cunnis Drive, Greenbriar TN 37073

Wish I could just hug these kids too as well as the young man in Knoxville who lost his dad earlier this week as well ...

Thank you. I hope this family had insurance that will help cover the financial needs in the long term, and I pray that God will have a big role in their life. I cannot imagine the tremendous pain that these kids are experiencing right now. I hope that they have some family that they can count on.

Thanks for the information about sending money. I know times are tough for everyone, but a little from everyone reading this can add up to a lot. I'm sure if this had happened to us when we were children, we'd appreciate compassion and financial assistance. So, let's dig deep and help!!!

Thanks for posting blitzinbuc, the address is actually Greenbrier High School, 126 Cunniff Drive, Greenbrier, TN 37073 and be sure to put it to the attention of "Fund for Able Brothers" or to the attention of the principal, Steve Sorrells and note your donation what this is for.

As updated news shows, a man has been charged with the murder of these boys mother, and burning the house to cover the crime. I just can't imagine what they are going through. I don't know them personally, but I know that the the coaches and the Bobcat Football family will surround these boys with support as long as they remain in our community. Continue to pray for them.

    • He may have possibly said that to get the best out of him. Back when I was in school word got out I was going to transfer and Coach Story popped off and ask Coach Wilson in front of the team if Maryville was going to get a jock strap in return on this trade. That got back to me and I got fired up and stayed just to show them up. Now today Coach Story is one of my best friends.
    • Dylan's Dad, I'm glad you replied. I wanted to reply but wasnt willing to take the bait. There were 20 wrestlers on the team. I may be mistaken and correct me if I'm wrong but I believe 5 of the 20 attend McCallie right now and one will next year. At most, there are/were 6 kids on that team who attend McC. That leaves 14 other team members who have ZERO affiliation with McC (outside of maybe some friends) who represented our state to the best of their ability and wrestled their butts off that weekend. That weekend was a first for Tennessee and obviously a small step in the right direction for us as a state. Congratulations TEAM TN BLACK!
