Tullahoma's pitching from Brad Roepke was probably the main reason they lost. He was leaving balls up and over the middle of the plate the whole time. He was hanging curves and giving them tons of pitches to hit. Franklin County's hitting was nothing special. They were getting bloop hits off down the middle fastballs.

The Cats 17 game winning streak is over. Wednesdays game with the Rebels is now a battle for a bye in the district tourney. Tullahoma can still win the regular season title, but must win tomorrow nite against the Rebels and sweep Columbia. Franklin Co is a good solid team and led from start to finish. Is Tullahoma contenders or pretenders? We'll find out Wed nite. Start time at Grider Stadium is 5:30pm.

I'd say Tullahoma is for real, even though we led from start to finish it was still a well played game by both teams except for a few miscues on both sides. I think it really helped our confidence while it may provide T-Town with some added motivation. Tomorrow should be interesting, can't wait to get to Grider.

I wouldn't say one kid was the reason you lost, he actually kept his composure and kept you in the game. I can name a few innings in which your hitting didn't come through in the clutch. And Tullahoma had their share of bloops, flares and, I recall a swing bunt single too. One nice rip by Hess for a double is the only hard hit I can remember, but I do remember the three straight K's to end an inning with runners on. I don't think Roepke had anything to do with that.

Is Shelbyville really that bad or is it bad Coaching!!

Its a lot better than the one who is running Shelbyville's youth league. He is so good they started playing boys softball in Shelbyville.

Congrads to Dylan Davis (AKA DD) for the win over Tullahoma and Seth Jarrell for the win over Lawrence Co. It really is sad that that age group of kids could not have stayed together in Shelbyville, but you have to do what is best.

One district loss and your ready to jump off the"Band Waggon". Lets get real. Two errors in the 2nd inning was the difference in the ball game. And as for Roepke loosing the game. ... Thats insane. He pitched a very good game. Gave up two runs in the 1st but after that he got settled in and didnt give up an earned run for 4 innings. Tullahoma also could nt get the bats going in big situations. 2nd and 3rd no outs and coming up empty hurts any team. Tonights game is big test for the Cats but I think after all that happened last nite, they will be ready and the "Waggon" doors will be open for those who wanna get on or "Jump Off"!

I agree and second that congrads to Dylan Davis on a quality win, he also pitched great against Shelbyville last week at his (first) home. After the injuries we are dealing with this year we sure could have used his arm on our squad.

I want to add a couple of congrads to Jonathan Horn on an outstanding game against Warren Co. Monday night, he went the distance and by far his best performance of the year. Second one goes to Seth Jarrell for an outstanding performance and going the distance last night against Lawrence Co and our first district win, by far his best performance to date also! Great job guys, four wins in a row, keep it going tonight for a sweep of Lawrence Co.!!!!! :o

Two of the runs were the product of an 0-2 fastball right down the middle to Cody Jernigan.

In the second inning, he misfielded a bunt that put runners on first and second with no outs, which then led to a hit batter and a hard hit ball down the line on a hanging curve.

I'm a THS graduate and always want the Cats to do well, so I'm not jumping off any bangwagon, win or lose. I'm also a long time umpire and have friends in baseball all over the state, including Franklin Co. I'm mainly interested in the umpires doing a good job and may the best team win.

Like the line in the movie The Bad News Bears '"We Win As A Team & We Lose As A Team" . It was only one of four times we've lost this year. Last year at this time Tullahoma fans and players would have loved only to be able to say we've only lost four times this season. No one player is the reason Franklin Co won the game. They did their jobs and made plays when they needed to last night. Tullahoma did not. That's why the score at the end of the game was Franklin Co. 5 Tullahoma 2.

Tonight's game will be a tough hard fought ball game. The team that wins tonight will be the team that does their job the best and makes the fewest errors. Should be a very good ball game.

Go Wildcats!

    • Ouch! If he's in the scrap business maybe
    • That's a nice story but has little to nothing to do with what we're talking about.
    • The winds of change are blowing in Hartsville.     Will be an interesting follow.    Would go back to the 90s and turn black the clock!
    • Did he promise you a coordinator job or something if he ever got a head coaching job? He resigned? He was at the top of the dugout last night calling plays. I wonder if those 30+ parents would let him give their kids a ride. by the way the board meeting was last night and it was not mentioned. must have been at the work session earlier this week which is not public. must be trying to keep it quiet.  Since you know so much, how much is Robbie Atwood willing to pay Adam Cothron?  Didn't you slander Eden earlier on here? You also didn't know he was a faculty coach again so how much do you really know? Some people outside this county baffle me with their need to slander others.
    • He resigned smh, and have you ever heard of charged but not convicted. Some people in this county baffle me with their need to slander others. Have you asked any of the 30+ parents that signed a petition to get him reinstated at the board meeting this week how they feel about this? Just let it play out, at the end of the day the only people that will bring TC back are the ones that know what its about at its core.    People hate losing and they aren't used to it at TC. I for 1, and I'm sure others too, understand having a dip in talent and not being able to compete for a state title every year. But in the past, TC teams have outworked more talented teams, they didn't continuously lose the turnover battle, they didn't commit 8+ penalties in several games each season, and I believe several of the folks in town that want Blake out feel as if he is neglecting the history of the program. This is from a source that used to be extremely close to the program (not me lol), Blake gets out of school midday and the players show up and there is no practice plan or itinerary.  I also understand those that are on team Blake, when he has loads of talent, he wins. He does know football and he is a tremendous DC, and if the rumors are true then he will do great things. As for the board member issue, it is what it is, everyone that's true to the county know that and nothing has changed. I agree though that they should strive to make the facilities as good as we can. And as far as potential candidates, I agree there is very few options. West, Vetetoe (yes I know), and couple others that could have some interest. Whatever happens is massive for the program during a pivotal time before the next big wave of stars make their way through.
