All I can say is things aren't always as they appear from the outside. :flower:

 

Well all I can do is look at the records and accomplishments and take your word for it. The way things sound, the community didn't take a liking to him and he did not get along with the administration at the school. Other than that, looking at how many kids are coming out for football and what was going on there, he was a success and will probably be grabbed up pretty quick somewhere in the area.

I don't care who you are .500 ball is mediocre! And going to the playoffs with a 5-5, 4-6 or worse, people shouldn't be happy or content with that. And if you are happy and content, the program will never get better. But, in Happy Valley's case, it is more than wins and losses. And Verran is being a a-----e about the situation he has found himself. Does he think he is the first coach to be fired? He should keep his mouth shut and move on. My opinion, Verran is just hurting his future in coaching. By the way he and ONE of his coaches have reacted to this firing is dishonorable. Sending text messages to players to leave HV and go to Elizabethton is NOT COOL! Verran has got the best interest of the kids and the HV program in mind? I THINK NOT.

I can agree that that'll hurt him in future coaching. Whatever does happen it sure has been kept quiet in anything having to do with the press. This happened right before Spring Practice so.....do they already have a new coaching staff picked out?

I don't want to drop any names yet, but I will say that Scott Nelson should have a job opening at Science Hill soon. :popcorneater:

Central named Jeff Fox,a former middle school coach,a couple of weeks ago. No word on who the assistants will be. Coach Winchell will probably be back as his son will be the starting quarterback at Central again this year. Probably one of the best quarterbacks in the region,just a great athlete. If I hear any more I will post it. If anyone else knows anything,please let us know. Also hearing all the assistants at East are going to stay.

      QUICK UPDATE -  First, I see a lot of wrestling names that I recognize on that GoFundMe.  THANK YOU so much for helping this family.   After the long surgery on Sunday morning to repair his neck, Jacob suffered a collapsed lung.  Sometimes this happens after long surgeries.  They had to put him on a ventilator to get his breathing back on track.  He came off the vent on Monday morning and they put a BIPAP on him to help control his breathing.  As of today, Thursday, the BIPAP came off and he is breathing well on his own.  He is working towards drinking a glass of water and hopefully eating some solid food at some point in the near future. Jacob can "feel" when someone touches his legs, but there is still no movement.  His parents are beginning to prepare for him to be moved to the Shepherd Center in the next few days.  He will be there in Atlanta for 30-45 days.  Im sure he will receive excellent treatment. Please continue to pray for healing for him and if you are so moved, please contribute to the gofundme link above to help in any way you can.  The go fund me is doing well, but this is going to be a very long road for these guys Im afraid..
