LCHS's Kelsey Kemp hit a turnaround 40-footer at the buzzer from the sideline at half-court to tie Wayne County and put the game into overtime. Abby Clayton hit two free throws with :00.1 remaining and Emily Williams then hit two more as Coach Byrd from Wayne County received a technical. LCHS wins it 50-46 at home in OT in their first game without Jordyn Luffman (ankle sprain).

I wouldn't want to play in a gym where the home teams have combined for a 16-2 record this year either, with the girls team undefeated at Ralph Benson.

 

Wayne Co girls played excellent basketball, but comments like yours take attention away from their performance. Everyone is on the end of such a result, with the opposing team hitting a heartbreaking shot, but to show up and denounce LCHS' effort completely as luck shows no class on your part. At least the kids you claim have no class are exactly that, kids.

Why must people constantly look for the negative in everything? Waynesboro played a good game tonight, the LCHS Lady Cats played a good game tonight! Kelsey Kemp made it really exciting with her half court buzzer shot that tied the game! The student sections were supporting their school teams and being kids! Just because the outcome of the game was not what you wanted is no reason to put down a player who just played a good game & put down a bunch of kids for cheering on their team?

Great finish to a good game. Waynesboro did out play Lawrence Co as they learn to play without Luffman. Kelsey had a great game and sometime its better to be lucky than good and tonight she was both. Great job Abby she was cool as a cucumber as she sank 2 free throws with .01 left in the game. Good luck to both teams in the tournaments.
