If you want to count a teams set of wide receivers I would not trade Maryville's set of wide receivers for no other teams set of wide receivers.Brad Merrit 6'1 180 lbs SR,Jacob Holt 6'4 185 lbs SR and Tyler Gaskin 6'3 175 lbs JR.are very good receivers with great hands.

 

Jacob had a monster game vs William Blount last friday. He killed Knox Central last year. Merrit is our go to guy.Gaskin will be our go to guy next season.

 

Reserves are Russell Clement 5'10 170 lbs SR who has the best moves on the team,Quick as a cat.Kirk Harris 5'10 160 lbs SOPH will be starting next season. He is younger brother of former rebel Kyle Harris ( starting receiver at Maryville College ).Dave Garner 6'1 180 lbs SOPH will be a very good receiver.He is fast. Andrew Clement 6' 170 lbs SOPH will be a reserve quarterback but he will also be a fine receiver.He is younger brother of Russell Clement and has moves just like Russell.

 

I think our set of receivers are second to none.

If you are discussing the best receivers in the state, you must name the whole receiving corps from MBA. Made up of juniors Scott Pettus, Matthew Jacques, Brad French, and seniopr Matt Serck, these players are very good. Jacques and French both have blazing speed, Pettus has the great hands, and Serck is incredibly athletic and can jump. Credit quarterback Michael Fisher who has a great arm and is very accurate. Look out for these receivers.

Jose, thanks for helping us prove our point. You said Jacob's qb is better than Bowman's...hmmmm, maybe that's why his stats are better than Bowman's this year. I've been to PLENTY of Notre Dame's games and not only is Bowman getting double-covered on every play (sometimes triple), but his qb isn't really that good. Nothing against the qb personally, he's a great person, just not that good of a qb. Benching 290 is great for a wideout, but sorry, that doesn't give him the distinction of being the best wideout in Tn. Bowman has earned the respect every single team gives him every Friday night, when he's in college, teams won't be able to double and triple cover him every play of the game because there will be other great wideouts alongside him, so his numbers will surely be better in college than they are this year in hs.

Bowman is the best WR in Tennessee, one of the best in the country (says several nation-wide ratings).

The 290 bench press was to prove his blocking ability, if bowman or brown where to go to a team like tennessee they would be blocking 75% of the time. Farraguts oppenents have doubled covered brown in most games and he still makes the plays.

Bench is nothing. Speed quickness and natural born skill is what gets you into a good school. I am a Sr and bench 290 myself I am 185 run only 4.8 and am not seriously being looked at. So bench is just a # which is blown up for scouts. It means nothing so me something on the field!

The best WR duo in the state is Kevyn Murry and Ryan Nichols from Franklin. Franklin averages 40 points a game because of these two players. Josh Refugee has thrown for over 1,000 yards already this season and only 55 comp. Kevyn is 6'4 180 and Ryan is 6' 165. They both have great speed and the ability to make big plays.
