OpinionDad
Why are we playing a district opponent tomorrow? Does it count toward district record? If someone knows please explain. What is the plan with coaching? I also heard we are playing 1 thursday and 1 friday instead of two friday....? is that true? Go Indians!!! ksgovols
Harpeth is playing Cheatham because they can. Both are on Spring Break and looking for games. Portland opted out of the JV game the other day and Davidson Academy had a wet field and didn't want to travel to our place. This week is about games before the district starts next Monday. District games are already scheduled. You can't add to that. It's a non district game that doesn't affect the district in any shape form or fashion. We did it last year with Montgomery Central. cheathamfan61
I asked this question in the 11 aa thread but I'll ask here too. What happened at the ROCK for the score to be so lopsided?
Gerry Bertier
Tennessean is just reporting a score of 10-0. I think the 21-0 score is bogus.
mmarlin
Tennessean is just reporting a score of 10-0. I think the 21-0 score is bogus. WE ZEROED OUT THE SCOREBOARD WHEN IT WAS 15-0. THE HARPETH COACH CHOSE WHAT TO HAVE PUT IN THE TENNESSEAN.
ksgovols
Yep. Up a touchdown after the first inning, up 2 touchdowns by the end of 2. Threw 5 guys I think. Everybody played.
ksgovols
Tennessean is just reporting a score of 10-0. I think the 21-0 score is bogus. Yeah, cuz the Tennessean is sending reporters all over the midstate to cover high school baseball.
Gerry Bertier
ksgovols, I know how scores are reported to the Tennessean. The coach calls them in, I do it on a regular basis. I trust the scores I see on there, I was just stated what was in print.
ksgovols
Cheatham's coach was gracious enough to schedule a last minute game after Harpeth lost a JV game on Monday and another game on Tuesday. Harpeth reported the minimum mercy rule to the paper. It doesn't matter if the W is by 1 or by 21. They count the same.
coachcutt
The Harpeth bats were smoking, a big improvement up and down the line-up from what we have seen to this point. Granted neither team used up much pitching for this game. The last kid that Cheatham threw did a great job with locating his fastball. Also some great defensive play in the first inning kept Cheatham from a big first inning. Foriest made a stab at third that prevented at least two runs, with bases loaded. It certainly appears that the Harpeth team is coming together as a team and has some good chemistry. Coaching wasn't too bad either, congrats to Coach Woods, Davis and Wallace on the big win! It will be good to get Coach Jones back on the field Friday. The team showed some real promise last night playing a fundamentally sound game. All of the hard work done in the last month is starting to show, making the smart plays on the field. Since effort is not lacking, Jones can now focus on baseball and really teach these kids at the higher level we will need. Good Luck Indians!!!
