soccerguru73
Sophomore year seems to be the transition year for many players from jv to varsity. Who are the best sophomores you guys see that have the opportunity to make a big impact on varsity this season?
DragonSoc
Collierville is fielding and starting several Sophomores this season. Most notably are Brent Lesnick and Mitchell Lindsey. Lesnick, a center forward with midfield pedigree has excellent ball skills and speed. He has scored four goals for the Dragons already and has recorded one assist. He is also an ODP player having traveled to Mexico with the TN team last year and plays for TN RUSH. Lindsey is a tall center back starting alongside Senior Co-Captain Kevin Hensley. Collierville's coach is looking at this season as Lindsey's apprenticeship before taking over defensive leadership duties for the All-State , Hensley next season. Lindsey has already made crucial tackles, shot blocks and has scored a goal for the Dragons in the Cleveland Tournament as he tunes his tactical positioning under Hensley's tutilage. Lindsey plays club at Collierville LOBOS. Also look for midfielder Cade Peeper to make an impact this year and the next two for Collierville. Coming off an ACL injury during club season, Peeper has quickly regain his trademark quickness after starting two matches and coming off the bench to score two goals and an assist in the Dragons first eight games of the 2010 season. XXXsoccerXXX
From what I know about Columbia Central High There are 2 sophmores in defense and they both start over a senior. Honestly I don't know how the sophmores do it but they seem to put heart in the field.
dins8
Timmy Baker from Catholic is very small but very good (reminds me a lot of Tyler Gibson with his vision). He is a very solid addition to Catholic, and I expect him to be a big time player when he becomes an upperclassmen.
loveusasoccer
CBHS has a ton of sophomores playing- Sam Wilson, Chris Matthews, Chris Gardea, Paul Burdette, Eric Owens, Jeff Silver. Freshman Kenneth Kauker is also playing well. MUS has two sophomore midfielders, Toby Baker and Sam Henke that are playing very strong. firecrotch12
Merritt spence from westview should be a standout player this year. An injury has held him back a little, but once he becomes healthy, look for him to start having big games. Miles Gearin will also anchor the defense this year. Try to score on him. xxsoccerxx
Columbia central seems to have 2 that standout to me: #11 Jerimiah Wright (Striker) and #6 Colton Bryant (Sweeper) In which they both play in key spots on the feild. Also, BGA has #14, Stiker, do not know the name of him though :[
