Attention serious middle school football players. Come tryout for the 1st Annual Kentucky / Tennessee "Future Stars" Football Classic. This event will feature the best middle school football players in both states (rising 8th & 9th graders); the event has been approved by the TSSAA. We will have a Tryout and Pro-Style Combine. If u are serious about football was a force on your middle school team this past fall come on out! It will let u see where u stand against the states best! Several local, regional & national prep sports media outlets will be covering the event! So come try an get some early exposure heading into high school. If your middle school coach did NOT nominate then u will need to register online!

Clarification, but is my opinion: this event is not approved by the TSSAA but violates no TSSAA by-laws.

An 8th grader at a 7-12 or K-12 school who played at the high school level in 8th grade would not be permitted to participate.

If u are football starved come on out Sat April 24 u will see the states "Future Stars" on display at the Combine, going thru position drills, compete drills (1-on-1's) & pro style combine conducted by former UT Vols Head Strength Coach Johnny Long. The response has been GREAT! There are still a few areas where response has been light but in EVERY major area there has been at least some response and loads of it in most. Some of these athletes will compete for playing time this fall on Fri nights according to the middle school coaches. We want the states best to represent Tennessee so we can establish bragging rights over Kentucky on all levels of football. If u know a standout middle school athlete make sure u share this event with him. We don't wanna leave out any worthy athlete. Take a look at the cities and/or counties that will have athletes represented at the Combine: Alcoa, Brownsville, Chattanooga, Cleveland, Clinton, Crockett Co, Dayton, Henry Co, Jackson, Jefferson Co, Knoxville, Maryville, Memphis, Morristown, Murfreesboro, Nashville, Oak Ridge, Roane Co, Scott Co, Sevier Co, Sullivan Co & many other cities and counties. Once the team is selected we will post to the site so everyone can see...

We will post the TOP Combine results to the website (and what school they attend). Also, its not too late to register, we are shutting off registration Thursday April 22. Get your athlete(s) registered today. Let them come see where they measure against the States best...

We are on rain or shine!!! 7th & 8th Grade Athletes come on out it will be the best $25 you have ever spent on football skills and competing; if you make the Tennessee squad it will be icing on the cake. We have a GREAT line-up of coaches/instructors coming including two former NFL 1st Round Draft Picks, Former Super Bowl Champion player, several other former UT Vols, area high school coaches from state powers Alcoa, Knox Catholic, Farragut, Knox Fulton & Maryville among few other schools. In addition several media outlets will be covering the days activities.

 

Lastly, former UT Vols Strength & Conditioning Coach Johnny Long will be conduting the Combine portion of the day.

I just want to know if it is too late to come tryout cause there is a kid that will be a freshman @ Knox Central and is by far the best TB in Knoxville and maybe East Tennessee!!!

Not a recruiting tactic as several area high schools had coaches working the Combine. There was even coaches from Chattanooga, Murfreesboro, etc working the drills as well. It was just a good thing for the kids to come out and see where they stack up. I can say there is TONS of talent in Tennessee. Some VERY good size as well - the OL & DL looked to be the deepest in talent as far as positions. GREAT turnout we already are planning to make next year more successful and hope to see more athletes out there.

hey rockytop football....you have no valid point in the response...whether they are from east tenn, west, middle, etc....the can be a recruiting violation and i will get to the bottom of it....if you are going to have "high school coaches working" then there should be a representative from each high school for an even playing field...or tssaa official.....we all know that if "certain coaches" see something they like some will illegally recruit.....and no not ever local high school was notified.....and tbc....
