Is double play sports paper history? I was told that Tim and Kim said thanks but no thanks. I like to read their articles but I hate giving you know who a dollar for it.

I haven't heard this rumor. I too enjoy reading the sports weekly mainly because it gives the athletes of Carter Co. some deserved recognition. I hope that the paper continues on for a long time to come.

Yes it is true. I can assure you that it is being looked into about publishing a weekly sports newspaper that will start during basketball season. The paper would cover sports in the "Carter County "Elizabethton" area only. We are looking at how to compliment the Star, yet cover some of the areas such as jv sports updates on teams, stats, youth sports that people have interest in as well. I have had several business owners who have said they would support this ideal and hopefully plans are to distribute the paper "free of charge" to the schools and the vendors in the Carter County area in the near future. The paper would be paid for solely by advertisement.
